Mancini's Char House

Ah, yes. One of the most St. Paul-iest spots in all of St. Paul, Mancini’s is an old-school chops house focused on the big, bold and bawdy. On any given night there’s great entertainment, whether it’s a lounge singer or karaoke. But mostly this family-owned joint is dripping with old-school kitsch and charm, making one of Mauer’s hometown faves.

While football-turned-baseball hero Mauer might not regularly show up here with his Twins buddies, you can bet you’ll get a Mauer eyeful at this little St. Paul hamburger joint dedicated to Mauer’s high school, Cretin-Durham Hall.

Casper Runyon's Shamrocks

This sports joint—also run by guys who own the Nook—is a favorite among Twins players and fans for its giant, juicy burgers and allegiance to hometown teams. Mauer’s teammates are known to frequent there, and the supposedly shy Mauer has been spotted with them on more than a few occasions.
