In its final exhibition weekend, the MIA’s "Sin and Salvation: William Holman Hunt and the Pre-Raphaelite Vision" is not to be missed. The 64 items and paintings wonderfully explore the technical skill and beauty of this mid-19th-century art movement. It's the perfect place to take out-of-town guests and even bored teens.

Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater

On this last weekend of summer, the Minnesota zoo ends its "Africa!" exhibit. Visitors can check out ostriches, zebras, giraffes and more in this six-acre exhibit and learn fun facts--like that each zebra stripe is as unique as a fingerprint--from the many zoo-keepers and children's activities on hand.
