St. Paul >Arts & Entertainment > Mann Highland I & II
An old school charmer offers two screens of new releases..
The lobby in this 1940s-era theater is spectacularly tacky: galactic-pattern carpet, wall mirror tiles with red-light trim, and rounded white walls with gold, sponge-painted accents. If you're lucky, your movie will be on the main floor--a cavernous, 550-seat theater with super-comfy seats. A slightly more cramped balcony theater was added in 1974 to compete with multiplexes.
This theatre has alot of charm. Once a 1200 seat one screen reel to reel theatre now has an upstairs & downstairs with full DTS sound system.
The art-deco lobby & street side ticket window really bring you back to the 40's.
The seats are very nice, recline to make neck strain miminal.
The concessions stand is rather small but usually very quick & the popcorn tatse's very tasty.
