"Deathtrap" Theater is poorly maintained, broken seats, sticky floors, etc. I tripped over a broken arm rest and banged my knee, I spoke to the 5' 15 yr old manager, he told me he'd talk to the other managers. I was ignored, the seat is still broken and another person tripped yesterday. Soon they'll be liable for a real injury, just fix the darn arm rest.
Best cheap and clean movie theater!. I always go to the Mann Hopkins theater for the 2nd run--they stay there just enough time and always get new movies in. So Cheap! -$2.50 for regular days, and I think $2.00 on Tuesdays? Great Parking, Safe neighborhood, easily walk to before and after eating/drinking places. I only wish they would have movies that started before the afternoon-It'd be nice to see a movie at 10 or 11am some day.
Clean and affordable. Tickets are 2.50 now. Still a great deal for the price. Clean, plenty of parking and lots of places to go before and after the movie.
AWESOME date night!. Walking to dinner then the movie... all for less than $30.00!!! WOW, the theatre is clean, remodeled and has the movies you wanted to see when they first came out. Highly recommended! If you haven't seen Hopkins yet this is a great reason to do so! Have a great date!
Second-run movies get another shot at this affordable neighborhood cinema..
In Short
With old-fashioned neon signs out front, the theater is as charming as it is cheap. Friendly staff welcomes thrifty moviegoers young and old into the huge multiplex with perks of like popcorn, refreshments, comfortable seating and cool air. Whether the feature is Oscar-worthy, independent or the typical blockbuster, all shows are $2 each, except on "Terrific Tuesdays" when it's a mere $1 per show.
I love going to this theater! :). I love going here because I can go for $2 and somtimes for $1 but it is also near my home so I can walk there. It shows the same movies that AMC shows but it dosn't cost as much and so we go to the movies right before they go to DVD because our TV is about 14" wide and long so you can watch movies on (Big Screen) for cheap without having a 20K screen at your home.
_was_ a gem.
It's a nice theatre but it used to be a _great_ find. A year+ ago, they apparently had a scheduler who threw in a selection of "mega-art" movies like "Run Lola Run" or "Unbreakable". You are still likely to see some oscar-winners.
But, unfortunately, most of the movies are just the "Dumb and Dumber" fare that showed 6 months earlier at the Mann about four miles east. Haven't been to the Hopkins for close to a year now.
Just Nice. Great place for a date. Bars and restraunts are close at hand. The Theatre is clean, also a great sound system. It is the best movie deal in the Metro.
A wonderful date.... It is a new theater. The staff is wonderful, the food is good but very spend! It is a dollar on Tuesdays.. a cheap date idea!
fantastic discount theater. when people talk about cheap theaters, several things usually come up. it's usually a toss-up between the great deal ($2, or $1 on tuesdays) and having to deal with a filthy theater that is understaffed. well the hopkins theater has been amazingly clean every time i've been. there seem to be plenty of staff around with a smile. not to mention that the big 10 is a cool place right next door, and that there's plenty of parking behind or in the city ramp next door. i think this place is fantastic.
