Editorial Review for In-N-Out Burger – by Citysearch Staff

In Short
Founded in 1948, In-N-Out locations are known for their eye-catching yellow-arrow logo and spic-and-span red and white interiors. The streamlined menu includes fries, beverages and three types of hamburgers. These all-beef burgers are topped with fresh vegetables and Thousand Island-like dressing on griddled buns with optional American cheese; fries--oversized potatoes with the skins still on--are dunked in cholesterol-free cottonseed oil until just the outsides are done.

Insider Tips

Know Before You Go

Secret menu items include burgers protein style (wrapped in lettuce with no bun) and animal style (a patty cooked in mustard and topped with sauteed onions, extra sauce and pickles). Fries can be ordered well-done or animal style.

What to Drink

If you can't decide between a chocolate, strawberry or vanilla shake, ask for a Neapolitan and they'll mix all three together.

Congratulations, you've made it to the listing for the greatest burgers in the world. The fact thAT my review title includes the word "Great" is self-explanitory. Not only are the burgers awesome, the fries are cut from potatoes right in front of you. However, it's the "Secret" part that holds the real mystique. When you walk in or drive-thru, you'll find the menu and options limited . . . . unless you know the secret names of customized hamburgers and cheeseburgers. Some of you know them, however for those of you know of them but don't know what they are, go to the www.tiburon-belvedere website and click on SECRET IN-N-OUT RULES for the secret names you have to give In-N-Out personel. The other "secret" aspect of In-N-Out Burger is the fact that they are only located in Nevada, Arizona, and California. If you don't live there, get there and order a "4 x 4". Look it up.

Pros: Great Food, Fast Service

Cons: Crowded

I would have to say that I will NEVER go to IN/Out burger AGAIN!! The fries were home-made, as they say, but they tasted like some sorta plastic, and the burger was not to my liking. Yuck, nasty, NEVA< NEVA, AGAIN!!!!

Pros: umm, no pros

Cons: the nasty fries, omg, that was sick and a waste of my money
