Pretty and pretty good too. I love this place, I love this place I love this place. Food is great, even was served warm on st patties day! My friends and I always share dishes because we just can't pick.

ST PATTY"S DAY: you need to be prepared this place will be PACKED! You can get a drink in a reasonable amount of time, and you won't stand in the bathroom line too long but if you don't get there EARLY you wont sit down. Any other time I can get a table easy (great place for a date first date) but st patties i take the day off of work to make sure I get a table or place at the bar. (a one day spring break)

I have always found the staff awesome, they really move to make the service the best they can with how popular it is.

And the local isn't just a great after-work or night spot, its great for lunch too! I have met my sister there for her lunch break and she always has plenty of time to get back to her office a few blocks away...which is fantasitc!

Great Service & Food - Fun and Busy Atmosphere. I was delighted with my dinner at the Local. I've been there for drinks, it's always a busy, fun crowd. Had dinner the other night, the food was just terrific. They have wonderful salads, you can customize them however you like. The Shepard's pie was out of this world. They also have nice wine by the glass and the Irish Coffee is the best I've ever had. I was impressed at how friendly and fast the service was, even though it was busy. It was a fun atmosphere with very friendly and gracious employees, the building is also gorgeous, reminds me of being in Europe. I will definitely go back for lunch or dinner soon.

Unsanitary. I went to the Local the evening of July 13th, 2008. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwhich with a side salad and I found (I kid you not) a pubic hair in my salad. After realizing what I was holding in my hand I almost lost it and immediately lost my appetite. That really goes to show how unsanitary their kitchen help really must be.

I love the ambience, I like the location, but I will never eat there again.

Always a good time.. This is one of two places I go when I want to have fun in MPLS. The place is huge but it still feels very intimate. The woodwork is gorgeous and it has a good selection of beers/scotch.

Horrible Service. I understand the appeal of the Local - good beer selection, cozy atmosphere, but I find myself avoiding it. It seems as if it is so popular, the servers/bartenders feel they don't need to put forth any effort to provide good service. The happy hour prices are mundane as well. There are other locally owned restaurants/bars in the Twin Cities that have better specials and better service.

Great Irish Beers on tap. Very neat architecture!. A place that looks very old but is relatively new. Great staff. Great beers. A place where you want to sit on the patio and drink and nice dark beer and watch the people walk by on Nicollet!!! A great place to relax and have a few cold ones! :D

Great music, place to meet people. This bar is one of my favorites. I love the crowd, the music, and the atmosphere. Great happy hour specials - try to 5 burgers for $5 (make sure you have friends to share with!)... also great on the weekends - very popular but not too crowded. I've always had a great experience here and met some fun people.

Tip back a Guinness and indulge in good Irish grub in this downtown Minneapolis pub.. In Short
Pull up a chair in the nonsmoking lounge or flock to the huge bar area, where dark-wood partitions provide tucked-away tables for two. Upstairs, find two ornate billiard tables and dart games. Service is friendly, and the massive carved bar, leaded glass, loud music and clinking beer glasses create a mix of Old-World elegance infused with sports-bar energy. The food is a combination of traditional Irish pub fare and updated American classics, with daily specials.

Beautiful decor, sorta pricey, laid back, fun. I love he decor of this pub. High tin covered ceilings with natural wood everywhere! The place is large enough and has a few particians within to make you feel you are in different sections of a large area. Some couches here and there to kick back in with you ground. The food and drinks are a bit overpriced in my opinion because they are nothing special, typical bar foods. Not a place to go to get a buzz going, but definately a place to hang, have a drink and talk to new faces. Crowd is 27-40 age group. Not trendy as you have a wide variety of people of all makes. People are laid back, business casual setting, some business standouts too. Located across from Newsroom and Brit's Pub.

Great indoor and outdoor dining/drinking. Celebrated a friend's birthday inside and it was cozy, food was great and the service was excellent. Also had lunch there recently and sat outside on the sidewalk. Again had a great experience, plus the sunshine and people watching on Nicollet Ave was spectacular.
