Had a hot bamboo massage today, it felt like a hot stone massage,, excellent. Suzanne did a great massage. I'd go back and I'd recommend it to my friends and family!
One Word: FABULOUS. It was my wedding day. I was a bridezilla. Until I went to the Day Spa. They did an amazing job with my makeup, manicure and pedicure. I am very picky with my appearance and I had no complaints! I felt totally relaxed after my massage as well. I will definitely be returning whenever I need to mellow out! I highly recommend to any and all.
falling out of love. I've been going to the Day Spa for over 12 years (less frequently in recent years). All of the onus lies with the customer and it comes off as disingenuous. The worst part is that some things are minor but they don't show management/owners in the best light. If you forget to mention an advertised special you won't get it & gift cards cannot be used for gratuity- if they wanted to make it work they would - other places do. I agree with the comments about it not always being relaxing and after reading about the cancer discrimination I am mortified.
Great customer service!. I contacted The Day Spa about an expired gift certificate. The staff went above and beyond to accomodate my questions and to assist in getting answers to my questions. If their spa services are anything like their customer service, this is a spa not to be missed!
Great place to go to!. Day Spa is located at Centenial Lakes in Edina. I have been going there since 1998. The services and staff are all so helpful and friendly. I had cancer 8 years ago and they have never treated me with anything but respect. I get many services and have gotten to know many of the staff. The products they sell are top quality. They went through a facelift not too long ago and it looks like a very relaxing place to visit. Give it a try and you will be very happy you did!
In response to a recent posting.
We would like to respond to a recent posting to our site concerning treatment of cancer patients. We want to make it very clear that we do not deny clients with cancer, treatments here at The Day Spa. Many of our regular clients are cancer patients and cancer survivors. Massage for people with cancer is beneficial to reduce stress and tension. Because cancer can be contraindicated for massage, responsible therapists get advanced training in order to work safely on cancer patients. Responsible therapists and responsible massage organizations will ask for a physician’s note to be sure that a physician is involved. We currently do not have therapists with the advanced training required but we are in the process of getting the necessary training completed. In addition we can currently work on cancer patients with the advice of their physician and of course the awareness of the contraindications for massage and permission of the patient. This is all done out of our utmost concern for the safety and wellness of our clients. All other spa services aside from massage that we provide such as facials, tinting, waxing, facial treatments, reiki wellness and all nail therapies are fine with no contraindications and can be done safely for anyone with cancer.
The Day Spa
Day Spa Discriminates Against Cancer Patients. Please consider carefully before you spend money with The Day Spa in Edina. I am shocked and dismayed that they refused massage service for my mom, Jen, because "she has cancer, and the massage might spread the cancer." A 15 year customer, Jen felt humiliated, angry and frustrated. Jen did get her massage at Salon 2000 in Eden Prairie who are very cancer patient friendly.
FORMER Day Spa girl. Today my friend went to the Day Spa in Edina to get a massage. Once on the table the therapist asked if there were any areas she was having problems. My friend explained that she was stressed out because she recently found out that her cancer had returned. The massage therapist left the room and came back and stated that it is their policy not to work on people with cancer because massage causes cancer to spread and refused to give her a massage. UNBELIEVABLE! I have been going to the Day Spa for over 12 years and under no circumstances will they get any more of my money. I recommend that everyone should refuse to patronize establishments that discriminate.
Excellent service. I had a great experience at The Day Spa. From the minute I walked in the door with the front desk staff to my massage and my facial, the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and professional, I wan't afraid to ask questions and they made me feel right at home. I left there very relaxed and with some new skin care products to try. I will definitlely go back!
A Hidden Treasure and Great Prices. I recently revisited The Day Spa with a gift certificate from a friend. I was not prepared for the new updated look....it is very nice. Clean, contemporary & comfortable. I was also amazed at the level of great service I received and a bit shocked to learn my facialist has been there over 12 years, the massage therapist over 10 and I believe my nail tech also over 10. It is hard to find long term staff like this in the spa world. For me, that is all I need to know about receiving good service & having quality managment. My nails still look great with no chipping after nearly 4 weeks and I am now hooked on a great new organic skin care line. Anyone who has had bad service due to inexperienced or unhappy staff will find The Day Spa in Edina a hidden treasure with reasonable service rates.
