A very enjoyable experience. After reading the first review I thought what a sourpuss. The first moment we walked into the general store they asked if we wanted hot cider. I thought this was very nice. There was no pressure to buy anything and we took our time looking around. Went to the restaurant for dinner except for the rib dinner at $10.99 nothing was over $9.59. Heartily recommend as these were big portions and plenty to take home. The staff was friendly and courteous. We stopped here on our way back from St. Paul to Nebraska and and I have no problem putting my name here.

Fun to be outside, unfriendly atmosphere.. We found it to be a very non-family friendly place. From a sign on the door saying "no strollers", to charging admisison for adults (which only leads to hoards of kids being let in with only 1 adult to supervise them), they certainly don't seem to have their customers interests in mind. I get the distinct feeling that it is all about the money at Emma Krumbee's. The staff was unhelpful, and uncooperative with each other--it seemed like everyone had their specific job and no one wanted to step into someone else's territory....this led us to have to stand in line twice to get food, and still we couldn't order what we wanted. The lady behind the counter spoke so quietly that we couldn't even hear her.

I have 2 young children, and waiting 6-8 minutes each time in line was very difficult.

There are bathroom facilities--they weren't the cleanest, but I've seen worse.

My kids loved riding the train and playing in the pile of hay. Also lots of fun trikes and playground equipment.

The music tent was a nice touch, but there were not enough instruments for kids to play (about 6-7 kids)...or if there were more instruments, they were not visible.

The maze was nice, but there were 2 exits on opposite ends so it was hard to keep track of both children and make sure they didn't get lost in there....I couldn't stand at both ends....would be nice if there was just one entrance/exit.

All in all, we had fun, but the staff really spoiled our visit--they just seemed grumpy and were not happy to be there. There are plenty of other orchards in the area that offer the same things and don't charge for adults or are less money, so I think we will go elsewhere and not do this one again.

A sprawling mini-amusement park of apples, pumpkins and family fun.. In Short
Some 7,500 apple trees yield more than two dozen varieties for picking from roughly mid-August to mid-October. There are also raspberries and enough pumpkins to make you see orange. Wagon tours of the orchard are designed to accommodate people with disabilities. Next door is a popular family restaurant--also bearing Emma Krumbee's moniker--where you can taste the pickings in heaping, scrumptious pies.
