In Short – This beautiful 500-acre park surrounds Wirth Lake, which offers a swimming beach as well as a boat launch. The largest regional park also has a snow-tubing hill and ski trails. Stroll through nearby Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden or toss your clubs in the trunk and head to the adjacent Theodore Wirth Golf Course. There's also a lighted run near the golf course's 10th hole that includes a towrope and chalet.

- Know Before You Go:
- Snow tubing is only available with adequate snow fall. The sledding hill provides $3 tube rentals on these days.
- When to Go:
- Modest Wirth Lake is a surprisingly popular stopping point for migrating waterfowl. In early spring, it's not uncommon to see dozens of loons and mergansers waiting on Wirth for the lakes north of the Cities to thaw.
- Parking:
- All recreation center lots are free to the public.
