Like it. Very cool place. Very fun. Odd that it is not enclosed and they allow cars, but it's worth going to if you are downtown.
This pedestrian-friendly mall--made famous by Mary Tyler Moore--is downtown Minneapolis' top shopping district..
In Short
The open-air mall is home to tree-shaded benches, lovely fountains, a farmers' market in summer, street musicians and a number of big-city-caliber shopping options. Marshall Field's, in the 700 block, is the historic anchor and a local institution. Sharing the Seventh Street intersection with Dayton's are Gaviidae Common (with Saks and Neiman-Marcus) and City Center. At Ninth, the Polo/Ralph Lauren shop and Crate & Barrel are notable. In the 1100 block, Peavey Plaza provides a nice place to relax.
Great Mall walk. The stores avalible and the variety is great. A great place to stop for lunch and a little shopping. I would recogment walking the whole mall and seeing the many outdoor art and looking at the buildings the shops are housed in.
Very Nice. Lots of stores in a nice silent area in the middle of Downtown. Fun to walk around. NO traffic!!!
Who walks around Nicollet Mall?. Nicollet Mall is really nice in the summer...especially when it's during the hours of 8-5 Monday thru Friday. Other than that...it's kind of quiet. I like a busy place..and if you do...you'll find it kind of boring.
