Very Disapointed.
We went in to try this for the first time and they had a special which they gave us extra scoop because of an anniversary or something. I was shocked to see how little I got for $5.
We had the "sampler" and did not think much of any of he flavors my friend chose.
They all seems too sweet, and I could not taste much if any ice cream, just flavoring. Like candy..
I much prefer Ben and Jerry's, Sebastian Joe's, or even just grocery store ice cream.
I will not be going back to Izzy's
Just alright ice cream. The fact that it's local and green makes me want to support it. Having said that, we went there for a treat, but I guess our expectations were much too high as we were disappointed with what we got. My boyfriends ice cream was a bit icy. The flavors weren't amazing. It was alright. I like the great little extra scoop they put on top. It was also a bit expensive we felt. I might go there again just to support a local green business and now I know what to expect.
sure, it's kinda pricey, but. the ice cream is fabulous- such unique and wide ranging flavors... and it's locally owned and operated... and they are a 'green' company. so worth it for a 'special treat.' my fav is the mini five scoop bowl so i can try varieties :)
Best ice cream in the metro area!!. Great ice cream, lots of flavors, and nice quiet environment. Not to mention the fact that they're environmentally friendly, too, by using solar panels for the source of their electricity.
Good but pricey. Ice cream was good, but not quite as rich as Grand Ole Creamery...They have some interesting flavors but not a lot with chocolate in it (could have just been right when we were there). Our main complaint is the price of the ice cream...$5.75 for a sundae which barely had any hot fudge on it. Almost $4 for a single scoop! The "izzy" scoop is a cute idea. Not a lot of tables outside to sit at.
Best ice cream in the Twin Cities. Can be crowded at times, but Izzy's is the place to be. Love the ice cream, smells great, convenient location, and friendly service.
I crave Izzy's icecream.. Izzy's has the best icecream I have found in the Twin Cities. It is only six blocks from where I live, so it is the perfect summer activity to walk to Izzy's and back with a group of friends. My personal favorite flavors are Norwegian Chai and Mexican Chocolate Fiesta. The menu varies, so they don't always have my favorites, but I always find something delicious. The lines can get long some times, but the workers are trained for speedy service. I love that Izzy's works with other local businesses. They use ingredients from the neighboring coffee shop in their Fine Grind icecream. Issy's icecream is featured at places like 128 Cafe down the street. Oh yes, the Izzy really is the icing on the cake of this icecream shop.
Families flock to this tiny eatery for the stellar ice cream and the "izzy.".
In Short
This 16-seat eatery has a sparse, clean environment, outdoor seating and tables for kids. Every cone comes with an extra little scoop called an "izzy," the trademark of this shop. Choose from a rotating selection of dozens of homemade flavors like ginger, hazelnut, Oreo cookie and coffee that's flecked with grounds. Those who aren't in the mood for homemade waffle cones can order a malt, egg cream or whirl-a-whip (similar to a Blizzard).
User review by ubatcha. Izzy's has awesome flavors, they're organically-friendly as well as earth friendly!
Soy Ice Cream. Not only does Izzy's have great regular ice creams, they also have at least two flavors of Soy Ice Cream available to scoop or pre-packed. They have figured out the formula for an exceptional Soy Ice Cream.
