Editorial Review for Izzy's Ice Cream Cafe – by Annamarie Cumpston

In Short
This 16-seat eatery has a sparse, clean environment, outdoor seating and tables for kids. Every cone comes with an extra little scoop called an "izzy," the trademark of this shop. Choose from a rotating selection of dozens of homemade flavors like ginger, hazelnut, Oreo cookie and coffee that's flecked with grounds. Those who aren't in the mood for homemade waffle cones can order a malt, egg cream or whirl-a-whip (similar to a Blizzard).

The fact that it's local and green makes me want to support it. Having said that, we went there for a treat, but I guess our expectations were much too high as we were disappointed with what we got. My boyfriends ice cream was a bit icy. The flavors weren't amazing. It was alright. I like the great little extra scoop they put on top. It was also a bit expensive we felt. I might go there again just to support a local green business and now I know what to expect.

the ice cream is fabulous- such unique and wide ranging flavors... and it's locally owned and operated... and they are a 'green' company. so worth it for a 'special treat.' my fav is the mini five scoop bowl so i can try varieties :)

Pros: yummmmy, locally owned and operated

Cons: somewhat expensive
