Good, Basic and Safe. This is always a safe bet. Never excellent, but very consistent. Safe for a varied group of eaters, too. Something for all tastes, as long as they'll eat Asian. Really like the BBQ chicken fried rice and the potstickers. The soups are good, too.
Waste of money for barely any food. I frequently eat-in and take-out from the Galleria location, but I had a coupon to this Ridgedale location so I decided to try it out. Wow, was I disappointed! A friend and I who are avid Big Bowl lovers ordered $45 worth of food, all of which we had eaten previously at the Galleria. We ate the Vege Dumplings and Vege Potsickers in the car and were extremely satisfied, but when we sat down to eat and watch a movie, we found that our containers of Yellow Curry Vegetable with Tofu were very watered down with hardly any vegetables, the tofu was cubed into extremely small pieces, and we were given about a half cup of rice. We were left very hungry after our meal. What a waste of money! I will NOT be going back to this location again.
Ughhh...
Terrible service, my waitress definitely wanted me in and out of there as fast as possible - and really showed it! Not only was she very snappy, but she also didn't want to bring drinks. PS - My table didn't have silver wear either. We had to ask for some. No biggie, but my waitress got irritated at US!
Food was alright, nothing special. And NOTHING worth everything that happened
And I got terrible food posoning! Nasty! I had the Kung Pao tofu.. my partner the Pad Thai. We both got very ill afterwards. In any case, we are both regretting spending 58 dollars on a terrible evening.
Terrible service. We waited for a table for about 45 minutes only to be sat at a table that was open for at least 20 minutes that we had even asked about. Food was okay but nothing special... definitely not worth the wait.
The second Minnesota location of this chain hits all the right buttons: young, healthy, global and fun..
In Short
Don't think of Big Bowl as an ethnic restaurant. It's an American restaurant serving noodle and rice favorites from across Asia. Dishes satisfy contemporary nutritional standards--more carbos and veggies, less meat, which also happens to be a good way to keep prices in the single digits. Popular options are pot stickers, won tons, sesame peanut noodles and wok-seared salmon. There's also a stir-fry bar where you can choose your own ingredients.
A Step up from the Food Court. Not as good as PF Chang's. It always seems like it's a challenge to get in ... even with reservations. Love the Kung Pao Chicken. It's nice and spicy. In my opinion the service is below average. There are better dining options around Ridgedale -- Bacio and Redstone.
YAY Fresh Asian.
True, it's not a 'Chinese' restaurant per se. But it's Asian & it's fresh & we love it!
My husband is deathly allergic to MSG - so eating at an Asian restaurant is a treat. I've tried almost everything & it's a decent food.
Favorites are the Summer Spring Rolls & the Potstickers cannot be beat. Love the Blazing flat noodles too.
nice. I had the create-your-own-bowl. i'm not too daring but I was happy with the variety and quantity
Try the Ginger ale!. The Big Bowl is a great dining experience. The food is unique to that area, the service is great, and YOU MUST TRY THE POTSTICKERS AND GINGER ALE! IT IS TO DIE FOR!! I think I am going to go there tonight!
