Tips for Woolley's Restaurant

Great dining in the 'burbs'. It's a rare experience when every item ordered, from appetizer to dessert, for a table of four, is outstanding!

This was our second trip to Woolley's, and just as good as the first. We were treated like honored guests for our anniversary dinner.

We did bring in 15 year old bottle of wine from our wedding year. I was told this restaurant never charges a corkage fee! I hate bringing my bottles of wine downtown because they charge you to celebrate with them.

The food was a taste delight. Highly recommend this restaurant especially for those that love steak.

Woolley’s surprised the hell out of me. I guess I’ve always had a negative idea of hotel restaurants. After dining at Woolley’s, I can honestly say that this restaurant broke the mold. The food was top-notch, the service was great and prices were very reasonable. My wife and I were staying at the Embassy Suites by the airport and were too tired to go out for dinner. We decided to walk downstairs and hazard the hotel dining experience. We were seated right away in an open gazebo area that my wife really liked. I had a steak and my wife had an Asian Pasta dish. Both of our dishes were wonderful. I also know a little bit about wine. I asked to see their wine list and was surprised with how many selections they had. We split a bottle of Rodney Strong Pinot Noir 2006. The whole time we were traveling I don’t think we found a fine dining experience that had this particular wine. I really liked the wait staff. Towards the end of the meal, the restaurant manager approached our table and asked out we like our meal. It was really a nice touch. I was extremely pleased with our experience. If we lived closer, my wife and I would be dining their all the time!

excellent steak. I was suprised at this restaurant. Very good steak, and very nice and personable servers as well.

Very interested drink selection. Bar makes infused martinis, actually very good.

Really, Really Good. I dine quite frequently and I do not give praise easily. I have dined at every fine dining restaurant in the twin cities.

I found Woolley's Steakhouse to be a delight.

The space is ok, it is in a hotel, but the plants and trees inside are very unique. The decorations of the restaurant are nice but somewhat non-descript.

What the space lacks the food and service make up for ten times. The steaks are just as good as Manny's or Mortons, and you get more with your dinners (starch, veg, salad).

The service really is top notch. Our server Pamela was extremely knowledgeable and helped us with entree choices and also to pick out a nice bottle of cab from thier wine list. The wine list is very nice as well with a lot of choices (200 +).

This restaurant earns a ten from me. I hope it lives up to this experience on subsequent visits. If it does it will be my restaurant of choice for upscale dining.

Fantastic Steak. Wow, I was very suprised by this suburban eatery. They have fantastic steak, and I'm a steak expert.

I had the beef oscar which utizlizes thier filet mignon, my fiancee had the ny strip which was excellent as well.

The service was very good, this also suprised me. The manager and chef both stopped by at some time through out the night. A very nice touch showing that they really care about the customers.

I will be back and I recommend this restaurant to all my friends.

Pretty good food, but some very poor service by some staff.. We had to wait for a little bit to get served and every table around us received bread at the beginning of the meal while we received ours once we asked. Our actually waitress was good, but the staff around her failed badly. I probably won't go back as it really wasn't good enough to warrant a second attempt. The chef also covered every plate with parsley for looks which is not very creative.

Excellent restaurant (steakhouse), the best in Bloomington. I have heard of this place but never tried. Recently I had the chance it was really great. We started with crispy beer battered walleye fingers which were the best I have had. I had the shrimp and scallop dish while my partner had the new york strip, both were excellent but the lobster cream sauce with my dish was out of this world.

The service was also outstanding. Our waitress was very knowledgable about the food and suggested a great wine with our dinners (a malbec from Argentina).

They have a unique dessert that we tried called the Strawberry Woolley's - it was flaming grand marnier that you dip strawberries in then dip them in whipped cream - very different and good.

The manager and chef both stopped by our table which was a very nice touch - it showed us that they care and appreciate our business - we will be back with friends! We highly recommend this restaurant!

What a great Restaurant. I eat out Three times a week and this restaurant is one of the best. If you have ever just wanted good food and service to match this is it. Pam is my choice for server of the year and the chef comes to my table every time I visit to ensure a perfect meal. What a gem of a restaurant. It reminds me of the old Charlie's in downtown Minneapolis when food was the reason you went to a restaurant and not because it is trendy.

Awful. Our waitress neglected our table, was rude and unapologetic for the problems with our meals. Manager on duty basically told us that our business meant nothing to the establishment.

I have never in my life received such disrespect and uncaring attitudes from a restaurant staff. After years of happily visiting Woolley's, I'm apalled at the customer service that was provided. I understand mistakes happen, but the sheer disrespect and discourtesy that myself and my party were treated with is shocking.

Great staff, excellent food. This place has been around for a while - 20+ years - I remember going to sunday brunch here when I was a kid. I believe they have improved over the years and kept up with trends instead of being left behind.

My favorite aspect of the restaurant is the staff. One of their servers goes by Grandma and she has been there since it opened (shes still going strong and a real sweet heart). Pamela is another one of the best extremely knowledgeable, professional, and kind.

Its amazing more people don't know about this restaurant. A lot of my friends had never heard of it. They could do more for advertising to get thier name out - they are still busy, but not overly so.

The chef comes in to the dining room and talks to the tables which is a very nice touch. The food is nothing that is going to knock your socks off, but it is extremely good. The walleye dishes have to be the best around! The steaks are very good as well, try the Filet Gratinee.

They have put a lot of effort in to their wine list over the last few years, which I appreciate being somewhat of a wine snobb myself. They did recieve some awards from the wine magazines for their list. They have some very good meritage and cabernets from california. I do go on Wednesdays and Sundays because they offer half price bottles off of thier entire list! I do now know of any other restaurant that do this! Usaully they have a seperate list or limited selection. They also serve thier wine at the right temperature! No other restaurants in the twin cities do this! None that I know of and I have been to the majority of restaurants in the cities.

Well come and see for yourself, this is basically an undiscovered gem that I truely enjoy dining at.
