In Short – This eatery in an Old St. Louis Park strip mall is decorated with giant paper lanterns and photos of workers in rice paddies. Both timid and adventurous diners will be wowed by the pan-Asian menu, which features Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai dishes. What makes this restaurant a destination is the more unusual dishes, such as the cranberry curry--your choice of meat tossed in a creamy curry sauce with tangy cranberries.
Something is different

Moved to the neighborhood 2 yrs ago. Found this restaurant and it was easily the best Thai in the cities. This was my failsafe 2 nights a wk. The food is excellent- spring rolls, wontons, and curry dishes are amazing. Also, the staff was very friendly and thorough. However, something has definately changed in the past 2 or 3 months. looks like new mngmnt b/c there is new furniture, new computers, some of the prices have gone up and the staff seems new. The regular staff seems to have all but disappeared(which used to be one of the biggest reasons to visit). The service is horrible now- think 40 minutes late for take out on a monday night. Take out orders are not correct. I've seen people get up and leave without ever getting their food. Bottom line is I'm dissapointed in all the changes and will probably rely on my trusty backups around town. It will be hard to quit the Cranberry Curry cold turkey though.....
- Pros: Food is consistantly excellant
- Cons: Service has been suffering in the last 2-3 months
Gem of a chinese dive in SLP
by Jofmpls
As others have stated this place can get extraordinarily busy and the seating is somewhat limited. The waitstaff seems to be very young, fun and hip (not hard on the eyes either).
I've eaten there maybe ten times now, always getting something a little bit different each time. Well, other than the mammoth egg rolls and very tasty cream cheese puffs. Have to get those or it's a waste of a trip. Everything has been either delicious or very good. Their Pork dishes seem to be a little bit off however. The meat has a smoky quality that seems rather out of place. Seafood dishes are generous and tasty, Vegetarian options are slim but anything can be made your way, the chicken dishes seem to shine the most.
- Pros: very large portions, great and friendly staff, fast
- Cons: limited seating, very busy and noisy
Best Asian in West Metro
by mncyclone
We have been searching for great Asian in the West Metro since we moved here four years ago. Our search is over. Thanh Do has amazing Asian cuisine. We especially love the Fried Wontons and the Cranberry Curry. The Create Your Own Stir Fry is excellent as well. They use really fresh ingredients and their sauces are out of this world. While the prices are not cheap, my wife and I are well satisfied sharing one order of wontons and an entree. They do a nice job of making sure your order is correct when you pick it up. So far we've only done takeout, but the dining room looks nice. I only wish they were closer to our house so our weekly trip trip there for takeout would be faster!
- Pros: Great food, Great take-out, Great service
- Cons: Not much parking
