Best Takeout/Family Dining in the City!.
So good... I highly recommend getting takout from Thanh Do. It's super good and super fast.
I also love Thanh Do as a place for family dinners. My husband and our family love to go there for something casual and affordable... where the staff is friendly and the food is consistently good.
Our favs... I love the pho and the fresh spring rolls, and he always orders the Sesame Chicken... his fav.
Dear Friends.
Dear Friends:
Thanks for all the love. See you soon!
Thom Pham
keep up the good work guys :-). My favorite place for Pho, St Louis Park's destination spot for over decade and still is, the new location is a big improvement, its very space and welldone on the decor, love the list of all the Asian beer, the food is no question, the wine list need a little help but aver all this is my favorite spot hand down!
No Fly Zone..
The reason thom phamâs restaurants are in the permanent no-fly zone for me, as iâve mentioned in other threads. . . i just think the guy is a terrible restaurateur who is way too self-involved and tied up in image. he uses low quality food ingredients and over-presents them. i donât mean to be annoying in my going on about it, but a guy who is more concerned about his shoes than his sushi ingredients. . . i got nothing nice to say.
donât get me started on him yelling at his servers for having the audacity to perspire, on a 100 degree day when his restaurantâs air conditioning went out. oh no, there are sweat spots on your serversâ uniforms, thom, while they are doing their best to continue to work for you and serve your customers. i am so sorry that they turned out to be human beings and not t
he blade runner replicants you ordered. you must be having a tough time, poor thom pham. here, let me get you a cold cocktail, donât mind the emtâs, while they are carrying out your broiler cook on a gurney because he passed out from heat stroke, youâre still making obscene amounts of money, and your shoes look great with that suit. :-/
One of my Favorite Asian Restuarants.
I come here often for lunch as it is near our place of business. The food is excellent. I love the cranberry cream cheese wontons and the vietnamese noodle salad. Also a must try is the Thai basil stir fry and the pho soup.
This is not your ordinary neighborhood "chinese" restuarant. The menu is diverse. The lunch specials are reasobably priced and portions are huge. I usually have to bring half of it home!
Wish I could have contacted them directly. It was a cold, rainy and windy night. We were meeting friends for dinner and since Thranh Do was very close to home we thought it was a good idea to try out their new location. Food was great and abundant - no problem there. But, we have serious issues about "moderately" priced restaurants charging $8 and up for a glass of wine. Almost always we will order wine with our dinner, but we cheapskates balk at ordering wine at these prices. We would have gladly ordered wine if it were in the $5/glass range, but $8 for pretty average wine is highway robbery. Would have liked to have sent them an email directly, but their website does not have a "contact us" option. Food was good - but service was not. Good waitress who was knowledgeable and well versed who offered suggestions on the menu - but we needed to actually get out of our seats and find someone to refill our water.
Busiest little restaurant in St Louis Park. Just discovered. I've been to Azia, and was very impressed. This is like the "casual version". Love it. Wish it was closer.
Love Thahn Do. If you like Asian food, you will like this place. It is by Erik's bike shop, across the street. If you haven't eaten here you should!
Service. The food is good enough that we keep coming back. But honestly, people that work here are not very professional. And some of their employees are not qualified for the job. It's pathetic.
Something is different. Moved to the neighborhood 2 yrs ago. Found this restaurant and it was easily the best Thai in the cities. This was my failsafe 2 nights a wk. The food is excellent- spring rolls, wontons, and curry dishes are amazing. Also, the staff was very friendly and thorough. However, something has definately changed in the past 2 or 3 months. looks like new mngmnt b/c there is new furniture, new computers, some of the prices have gone up and the staff seems new. The regular staff seems to have all but disappeared(which used to be one of the biggest reasons to visit). The service is horrible now- think 40 minutes late for take out on a monday night. Take out orders are not correct. I've seen people get up and leave without ever getting their food. Bottom line is I'm dissapointed in all the changes and will probably rely on my trusty backups around town. It will be hard to quit the Cranberry Curry cold turkey though.....
