Good-Great food... when they get it right!.
We order from here at least 3 times a month because it is the BEST Chinese in our area (1.5miles away). Today was the FOURTH WRONG food delivery order IN A ROW… I have been waiting to write this review because, like I said, the food is good-great when they get it right! The delivery is pretty timely and the food is good, but the kitchen cannot seem to get the orders right!
During lent they sent beef orders instead of shrimp so, we had to wait another 45 min to an hour before they sent a new order to the house. Instead of simply replacing it they argued with me. We were not looking for a free meal and sent the wrong order back with the driver.
Tonight though I ordered a simple order with white sauce instead of brown (I am allergic/sensitive to something in the brown sauce). Before the driver left I checked my “white sauce order”, wrong again. So, as my family finished their meal I was delivered the right one 45 minutes later.
GOOD food, CRAPPY SERVICE!
BEST IN TOWN.
I cannot disagree more to those that don't like the place. First of all, the food on the buffet is fresh. They bring out dishes every 5 minutes. Very flavorful as well. The buffet line is always busy - which means something is going right otherwise it would be empty. The price $5.99 wouldn't even buy a McDonalds Happy Meal (ish). The turn over is constant between 11:00 and 1:00. The place is rather small - only downfall. I highly recommend it.
I eat there 2-3 times a month and have NEVER had a bad experience.
The Most Disgusting Chinese Food I've Ever Had. I just ate 1/3 of the most disgusting Chinese food I've ever had. Ever. The fried rice was so heavy with oil, I could feel it as I scooped it out. The spring rolls were as oily, and on top of that, the wrap dough was grainy and crumbly. Neither had any actual vegetables besides onion, even though the spring rolls were supposed to be veggie spring rolls. I tried to eat some of it since I went all the way over there to get take out, but in the end I couldn't. Waste of money. Gross, gross, gross!!
Can't beat the price for the lunch buffet!.
This place is good. It used to be a lot better... but it's still tasty. Lunch buffet is really cheap ($5.50 a person until 2pm). Egg rolls are thick and deep fried. Fried rice is nothing to boast about. Lo Mein is almost frozen food quality...
but the honey mustard chicken is awesome! And the sesame chicken isn't too bad either. They always have sauteed green beans and deep fried bananas. Usually have some pretty tasty other entrees as well and their sweet and sour sauce is good.
A well-done, small buffet with a great selection. All right...so, if you are into really hot and spicy food, you might want to try a Thai restaurant and do the pepper thing until you can't feel your mouth anymore. But for those of you looking for a nice Chinese buffet that offers the basics and has some lovely shrimp and egg foo-yung, this gem of a buffet might be just what you're looking for. No, it doesn't have pizza, fried chicken, a salad bar, and an ice cream machine. It has about six different appetizers, some great main dishes, two types of rice, noodles, and almond cookies, too. The staff is friendly and yes, they are busy. However, they have always been pleasant and helpful whenever I have needed a refill on my soda or when I'm ready for the bill.
Bland food; mediocre customer service. I had wanted to try this restaurant for a long time: this was my first try for the buffet. I found that even the Szechuan dishes (marked spicy on the menu) were bland, bland, bland---and they were basically lukewarm in temperature. It was not very enticing: I found the customer service also lacking.
In this case, Less is More.
I like to treat myself to this place once a month or so, and it definitely is a treat!
You won't find ten different chicken dishes, or ice cream, or those rubbery little Jell-O cubes at this joint. Just an efficient 10' x 3' buffet with a great variety of fresh, unique and delicious items. Think of it as the top 15 items from a traditional Chinese buffet, but cooked with quality ingredients and care. And, yes, there are Cream Cheese Puffs and Egg Rolls. I love the Honey Mustard Shrimp and Garlic Green Beans.
My friends and I usually sing the Drew Carey Show theme song as we are on our way, but we replace "Cleveland Rocks!" with "Cleveland Wok!"
Be sure and check the hours, I drove there one Sunday from MPLS only to be left leaning my head against the front door in defeat.
Great food and always fresh. Found the wok after having our favorite regular buffet go way down in quality. I didn't realize how bad it got until we ate here for the first time. Great food that is always being turned over so it's super fresh and hot. Only complaint is every day has the exact same items on the buffet. Never any variety.
Best in Highand. Unfortunately we found Cleveland Wok after a bad experience with Grand Shanghai, a former favorite. Fortunately we found Cleveland Wok. Terrific service, exceptional food. We will return again and again.
Always fresh and friendly staff. This is a favorite for our family. The buffet is always fresh. The green beans wth garlic sauce, honey mustard shrimp, and dumplings are delicious. It is small and you often have to wait but very worth it.
