What People Are Saying About Three Fish Restaurant

Citysearch
In Short – Three Fish may be in a strip mall, but it doesn't feel that way once you're in a big booth with white-linen tablecloths along a wall lined with tall windows. Drapes of silky, harlequin-printed fabric in olive, magenta and red create an elegant vibe. Reasonably priced seafood meals are slowly paced, ideal for celebrating families and groups of friends out for a leisurely dinner. Highlights include steamed mussels in a bouillabaisse and lemon-butter Atlantic salmon.
Decent Food-Small portions-Romantic feel
by macguyver at Citysearch
Three Fish has never been too generous with their portions, but they must be feeling that it's necessary to squeeze more profit out of the food and drinks. In addition the price is up a bit besides. Do not split as you will be hungry by the time you leave. The 'sides' are skimpy, (asparagus overdone) the fish portions are no more than 6 ounces and the wine pour is a joke. They serve reds in what appears to be almost cordial size with less than the minimum 4 ounces. The calamari is good but a third of what you expect filling up the plate with other items to give you the impression that you're getting what you pay for.
Service was decent especially when there was maybe 12 people in the whole dining area. Ambiance is great and romantic.
- Pros: Quiet, romantic setting for a special date
- Cons: Small portions in everything, high price
Great secret in a strip mall
by jbvv at Citysearch
Wow, that sums it up. My partner and I were looking for a new seafood restaurant to try, and we saw the great ratings for Three Fish on Citysearch so we tried it. Driving up to it, we were a bit put off by the location (in the strip mall on Excelsior and Lake where Whole Foods, Chipotle, and Noodles are). But upon entering, it was like walking into an upscale bistro in Downtown. White tablecloths, rich colors, and friendly staff who made the specials sound delicious.
We were even surprised by the quality and presentation of the food, for the price we paid! For about $50, we got an appetizer of fruit and cheese (Delicious!), 2 entrees of seafood pasta (very fresh, beautiful, and just the right portion size), and my partner had a drink. We didn't have dessert, but they looked wonderful on other people's tables! My shellfish medly with linguini and garlic sauce was a surprising find on the menu, and my partner had jumbo shrimp with basil tomato sauce on angel hair. Um, my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
It got a bit crowded about 7pm on a Friday night, so I would make a reservation. Trust me, this place will not disappoint you!
- Pros: friendly staff, great food, right size portions
- Cons: parking
Awful Oysters

The oysters were old which makes this place lower than a vending machine. Otherwise they had a nice atmosphere and a mostly pleasant staff.
