Wonderful salon. Olive is a fantastic salon, with consistent quality, a really comfortable atmosphere, and affordable prices. I've been going there for years and love it! Best of the many Minneapolis salons I've been to.

Love my hair!. I just discovered Olive Salon and am so happy. I have fine hair that never really does anything. My stylist took a lot of time consulting with me and ended up giving me the best haircut! The salon was cute and I really liked the local art.

Best Haircut. I have challenging hair. Half straight, and curly. I went to Olive Salon, and requested help. I gave her complete freedom to try what she thought would work best, and I ended up with my favorite haircut ever.

I have been going back for a few years now, and I am always happy!

Thanks Olive!

Olive rocks!. Olive salon doubles as a salon an gallery, which is a perfect combo since you can browse the rotating art selection while you are waiting for your color to set. Sara at Olive is the best stylist I have ever had. I never have to know what I want before I go in because she has awesome and original ideas for my hair every time. Sara's talent is not a secret, so book far in advance! If you just can't wait, the other stylist at Olive are great too. The location is also a bonus since you can take your new do out on the town on Eat Street after you're done getting prettied up. Bonus number two: You might spot Sara's adorable Pom puppy on your next visit as she is a salon regular these days!

Does hip = dirty?. Yes, the rates are good, yes there is art on the wall, yes someone offered me something to drink. This salon is *dirty*. It needs a good scrubbing and new paint to say the least. I had an appointment shortly after they opened, and there was no way that there could have been so much hair and dirt on the floor already. Immediately upon walking in I almost left because of the grime--but based on previous reviews, I thought I would still give it a go.

The cut: mediocre at best. My stylist seemed more interested in making sure she didn't make her next client wait too long, and I left with a Midwestern soccer mom cut. I was very descriptive, gave feedback during, and quite honestly, I could have done better with a student from the Aveda Institute. Halfway through my cut a staff member's yapping dog started running around and barking--adding to the dirty feel of this place.

I rather pay $20 more for a cut from a salon that understands what it means to be a good salon, I don't need art while I'm getting my hair cut.

AMAZING service. I've been going to Olive for almost four years now. Eunice is an amazing stylist and she always keeps my hair cutting edge and funky yet professional. I like to say that she sculpts the style out of my hair like a sculpter makes art out of a block of marble. I have really thick wavy hair and when she's done each curl can do it's own thing. They are an honest and truly artistic staff. They are attentive without being pretentious. Also, they never pressure me to get more services than I need and I never feel pressured to buy their products. A ++++

Well, not so great. I was at this salon twice. My first time was great. The second time, I went for color and cut. The color was not at all what I had wanted..turned out dark and drab. I ended up adding my own highlights after. The cut wasnt done well, either, and I had challenges managing it from the get-go.

I like the place. People are nice, albeit it feels frantic in there sometimes. I wish things had turned out better. I am not likely to go back, sadly.

LOVED it. I went to Olive for the first time this week. I saw the reviews online and wanted to give it a try. I had tried a local salon with unhappy results, even after a redo..I had also needed to find a new salon home as I was no longer able to see my prev. person as she was too$$$$$$. Anyway..so, I went to Olive and I was completely thrilled.

I saw Will, who listened, took time with me, and gave me a perfect, fun, interesting cut that is easy to take home and do myself. I was sick of my boring bob, and the cut really perked me and my face up. Add to that, all of the compliments I recieved the next day was great.

Will was really fun, talkative, interesting and made me feel right at home!

I will definately be back, already have an appointment for cut and color next month, and a friend of mine, who went with me, and was impressed, will get his hair cut in a couple of weeks there. Thanks, Olive! Nice to be home!
