Casa Lupita rivals corporately owned (McDonald's) chains like Chipotle with their fat burritos. You cannot go wrong with the selection on the menu, and the prices are competitive despite an increase of a few nickels in recent years. This Mexican joint has held a foothold in a medicore location because of their quality food. Try all of their salsas, especially with any of their burritos which have been named the best in the Twin Cities in years past. A marvelous find, and those nearby should make the effort to try it. Don't expect the Chipotle experience, but do expect all of the flavor, more variety, and a sense that you've found something special.
Highs and lows. Look the food is usually very good but the prices keep going up, the employees aren't always friendly, and there is never ice in the pop machine and sometimes not even napkins without asking.. The place could use a good cleaning (window sills, etc.). Can't use debit card for under $5.00 (although it never is).
Worth the drive. If you like "cart-style" Mexican food, this is the place. Great food, fast, and authentic. The family also owns D'Castellanos, which is their sit-down restaurant down 96, but this place has better "American" Mexican food. Slow down, because you will miss it if you aren't looking. It sits next to a gas station in a strip mall, and only has about 10 tables inside, but outside seating when it's warm. Try the specials, and try the enchiladas. Great food for the price!
Not worth it. Very disorganized and wait was very long considering we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. No ice was available in the pop machine. The pop was an "off" brand and very flat. Not impressed with the enchiladas - not much food and overpriced. Chips and salsa should be complimentary, not almost $2 for a small basket and little cup of salsa.
authentic. Excellent food! Try one of the daily specials, which are made from scratch in the back. Definitely worth the wait.
Great eats. I have had lunch here several times. I love the burritos made to order. They are huge. the chile rellenos didn't impress me. My co-workers love the tacos.
