Agree, not good. It's been a few years since I ate at Magic Thai's lunch buffet. They used to have a pretty decent selection but sadly the place has really gone downhill. Their yellow curry was primarily onions, in fact onions dominated most of the vegetable dishes. There were none of the ususal Thai flavors and spices one would expect, absolutely no kick, all of the food on the buffet was of very poor quality. There was no one in the restaurant during peak lunch time which should have been a sign. I have to give this restaurant a never again. Save your money and go anywhere else including picking up a sandwich at the gas station next door.

Not good. I love good Thai food when it's done right. I decided to stop by Magic Thai on my lunch break to give them a try. I got the Red Curry Chicken lunch special. It seemed like a really good deal. It was ready really quickly and the guy taking my order was really nice & friendly. He recommended the red curry dish. However, as I was driving back to work, the smell coming from the bag was not smelling promising. I took about three bites and could not eat anymore. The flavor was off and did not taste right. The cream cheese wontons were barely fried and were not at all edible I think the egg roll would have been good if it was fresh, but it was totally soggy and old. All and all, I will not be back. It was a waste of money and very disappointing.

Buffet features little Thai food. Flavors superior to most Chinese restaurants. We were a little disappointed that most of the food on the buffet was more likely to be seen in a Chinese restaurant. However, the spicing was very good.

The Thai salad was as we expected light with the taste of fresh herbs. The chicken wings had an unusual and delicious flavor with a touch of sweetness. Most of the hot meals on the buffet were unusual versions of Chinese cuisine. Lo-mien, Chow mien, Garlic Chicken, Sweet and Sour...

Still the kitchen took some liberties with the recipes and, we think, improved them by adding unique flavors and appearances.

We recommend this restaurant but next time we will order off the menu.

Yeah, no. Go to Taste of Thailand in Apple Valley if you must stay in the burbs. Otherwise venture into St. Paul and go to Pad Thai or the original Taste of Thailand. In Minneapolis go to Sawatdee. Their egg rolls here are tasty though.

Worst Thai food ever!. I've been to many Thai restaurants and this is by far the worst. The food is anything but Thai. The customer service is by far the rudest. But if you know nothing of authentic Thai then this would be the perfect place for you.

Great, authentic food. This place it a gem, particularly in the 'burbs. Small, unassuming but excellent quality and particularly great flavor. Makes me want to drive down the street to the packed chain places and yell at everybody to wake up! The world of Thai food doesn't stop with pad Thai as it seems many places do, and this place goes far beyond. Fantastic Som Tam, great Pa Nang and Laab Gai. The only downfall is no wine (or any alcohol) - would be great if they allowed you to bring in a bottle with a corking fee as many places do. But, don't let that stop you or get takeout for home.

Editorial Review. Family-owned Thai restaurant serves discounted lunch buffet and early-bird dinner specials daily.

Exceptional Thai. I have been to eveyr Thai Restaurant in MN .. and several others throughout the US, Magic Thai has the best Tom Yum soup around. While this is my favorite, there are so many other wonderful dishes to try. This is a must-go restaurant. Highly recommended.

If you cannot eat hot/spicy food, do not order it that way. One of the biggest mistakes made when at a Thai restaurant is to order it hot and not be able to eat it. If you are a regular Chinese food eater - do not consider it the same. Thai is lighter, more flavorful and they do have the ability to make it hot. So respect the fact that this is a family business and what you order is what you should be willing & able to eat. FYI - Cucumber diffuses the spice.

Enjoy a true Thai restaurant....

Awsome Buffet!. If you live in or around Eagan, this is Must-Try-Thai. They have an incredible lunch buffet. Some of the dishes can get a little hot, but for the faint of heart there are plenty of tamer choices. Personally, I like a little sweat on my forehead and the Spicy Pork is just the dish for me!
