Jaimie Lee did a fantastic job on my
hair. I went there for my first time, just to trim it up - a style I've had for awhile. She kept my style- but improved it at the same time.
She is a skilled, and very friendly artist. I can say, without the slightest of reservations, that I highly recommend Jaimie for your next hair cut. You will not be disappointed.
I would highly recommend Jodi if you are looking to get an eyebrow wax.
What a DISAPPOINTMENT! $250 Wasted..
I went to Jungle Red with high expectations. I had heard about it from a friend that used to live nearby and thought it looked like a nice place. I checked out reviews and I didn't see any major red flags.
I get there and the place seems pretty good considering the building was once a car wash. Also Tabitha "took over" this past summer/fall, so I'm sure it was a big improvement. However Tabitha should have stuck around a lot longer to have made any impact here.
The stylists seem nice but SO FAKE! I actually started counting how many time I heard "Awesome!" Annoying but no big deal if they are good. My hair was pretty blond, I would get highlights from Fantastic Sam's (yes, I know) and always had a decent result but I wanted a change and didn't want to risk inexperience and wanted to go to a "nice" salon.
I brought in several pictures of the look I was going for which is a Jennifer Aniston color (Brond) Nice and warm and an easy transition from a bright blond. The stylist selects a couple of colors that she thinks would look good. I thought, and expressed that the colors seemed cooler than what I though would turn out. She insisted that these would give me the look I desired and who am I to argue- I don't know hair coloring techniques. But I was starting to worry
She proceeded to foil my hair and then had another girl (who was actually quite sweet and normal) did an all over color with the remaining hair. Long story short, Hair is washed and dried and looks NOTHING like what I had asked for. The top portion looked ok, kind of buttery. The rest of my hair pretty much looked gray. Like a dusty mousy brown. NO shine, NO warmth, NO pop.
Of course the other girls there fawned over my hair and how great it looked- Are They Blind?! It looked worse than if I had bought a $7 box and took my chances at home. I was so bummed... $250 for a crappy color.
I went back the next day to see if anything could be done to add warmth or something to my hair. The stylist started talking about that my hair was "just so blond that it took the color differently" Thats why I am going to a pro! To have my hair assessed and treated in whatever way it needs to get the look I want! At least a warning that it won't turn out well would have been nice.
She hurriedly put some caramel streaks in part of the hair. It looks slightly tolerable, at least until I can afford to go to another stylist in a few weeks.
NO good! Unless you are a color blind 14 year old that wants to talk about gum.
Love Jodi Ann!. Best massage ever! Love Jodi Ann! She keeps it relaxing and inviting in her area. It's awesome. I feel like I'm walking on air! I've also had a facial with jodi- AWESOME! I've also had my hair done at Jungle Red. I had highlights (which I'm very picky about!) and i LOVED them! It's the only place I'll go for highlights and cuts anymore. The stylists are also very personable and relaxed, but really know what they're doing! It can be a bit spendy (im CHEAP!) but they always have specials going on, so it's always worth the trip from Chaska for me. Thank you Jungle Red!!
Quite possibly the best haircut in the world!.
We had the barbershop blues. I know there are guys out there, and possibly women who know what I mean.
My best friend made a strong recommendation to a stylist at Jungle Red named Molly. My best friend, a woman with long, naturally curly hair told me, "Molly really knows how to style my hair like no one else." My friend went on to tell me how much time and care went into her style. I have to say she looked fabulous.
Back to me and my partner. Barbershop blues- remember? I have short straight hair and my partner has short, naturally curly hair. Somehow though, at the barbershop, we walked out with the same haircut, every time. It was the cookie cutter approach and we wanted something a bit more tailored.
I had always been told that the only way I could really change my hair style was to grow it out. I'm not the long hair kind of guy though so I thought I was stuck. Molly at Jungle Red showed me that there are other options for changing things up a bit. She is a marvel with her craft. By using texturing and styling techniques, she showed me a few options.
My partner pursued many options with styling including growing it out a little and a few other ideas from the artist, that's right, artist, Molly. The important point is that we each had a haircut that suited each of our individual tastes. She takes the time to listen and really understand what you want while also making suggestions to those of us who may not know.
Listen, Jungle Red is an awesome place with a tremendous energy of fun and elevation. I know they have a full range of spa options and from what I hear; they are the best at all of that too. From my own experience, I have never seen my hair, my partner's hair or my best friend's hair look better.
Do yourself a favor and lose the barbershop blues. You owe yourself at least a tailor made haircut. If you do the other salon stuff; massage, spray tan, coloring, manicure + a seemingly infinite number of other services, there is no better vibe anywhere.
Great place!. I moved to Minneapolis almost two years ago and was told about Jungle Red from my apartment complex. I was really cautious of who worked on my hair bc my cousin always had prior to living here. I found Jamie and she does a great job and I love my hair color and cut everytime I visit her. I have also used their wax and spray tan services were are great! All the girls at this salon make you feel very comfortable and you walk out feeling like a million bucks!!
Love this place!. My girlfriend brought me here the last time we were in the cities. I was in love from the minute we pulled up. I love the space, making something old new again is a big big plus in my book. Once inside, they had local art on display and for sale. The girls all were super friendly and helpful. I walked out with a totally new look and loved it. So anxious to go back when we are home again for Christmas.
fabulous facial!. Desiree is a wonderful esthetician . She is very knowledgeable, personable and friendly. I loved my facial and peel! They were able to get me in at the last minute, and had lots of options for facial services at reasonable rates. I like the eclectic and unique urban ambiance also. I would highly recommend her services, and will be back.
Worst haircut I've ever had. First of all, I am NOT a picky person and am pretty easy going and flexible so for me to majorly disapprove of something you know it sucks. I had to go get my hair "fixed" by another salon days later because it was so bad. This place reminds me of a bunch of little girls running a salon out of their club house and charging high end spa prices. The prices DO NOT match the skill. Yeah, free parking, but it's like a narrow srtip of alley and once you drive in you can barely get out it's SO tight. The people there are really nice and friendly. But that's about all this place has going for it. They don't have prices listed on any of their products, they can't seem to work their computers, and they WAY overcharge for the low quality service you get. The staff seems inexperienced, and honestly, not very good. But they're super nice lol.
Fantastic everything!!!. This place saved my life! I had a hair emergency and they fixed it so you couldn't even tell. My stylist gave me great tips on styling and was just the sweetest girl! The building is super unique with lots of artwork up for sale. I am definitely going back, and recommending it to all my friends!
