In Short – Thursdays through Sundays (Nov. 28 through Dec. 21) at 6:30pm on Nicollet Mall between 12th and 4th streets. A glowing fairy-tale world featuring marching bands, almost 250 costumed characters and celebrity grand marshals floats down Nicollet Mall. Some popular floats: "The Wizard of Oz" and "The Princess and the Pea," a float featuring Peef, the storybook bear created by Twin Cities writer Tom Hegg and illustrator Warren Hanson. Well-bundled, wide-eyed children and their families stand side by side with busy office workers and downtown regulars.
