Nouveau Mediterranean fare in a laid-back, snug Cathedral Hill space..
The Scene
This cozy dining room with yellow walls and an eggplant-colored ceiling used to be the breakfast spot, Z's Cafe. Don't be surprised to see a staff member cut herbs and edible flowers from window boxes out front only to find the fresh snippings in your dish. Servers are genuine and amusing.
The Food
Although the name hints to Greek mythology, this is not your typical gyro-loving restaurant. The menu changes daily, but expect decadent and light Mediterranean creations. The saganaki (kasseri cheese) is flambéed tableside--servers even cry "Opa" without being too corny. A Greek salad is better than most, topped with oregano-lemon dressing and anchovies. Spinach and garlic pasta with olive oil is fresh, but simple compared to the beef tenderloin, encrusted with Mediterranean herbs, served with a spicy pomodoro sauce and a side of creamy polenta. Choose the chocolate mousse or the rice pudding for dessert.

Please check out the twin cities most premiere chef. Let Gregg serve you up one of his most unique and special selections. It is always of superior quality and freshness.
My standing offer in the office is to pay for anyone's meal that did not have the best meal of their life. No one has taken me up on the offer.

Oopaaaaa!!!!!
Best Restaurant in St. Paul!.
St. Paul is finally coming around! Medusa is the best restaurant in St. Paul, and it has to be top five in the Cities. The food is great, and they are not skimpy.
The wine selection is tight. Finally a place where you can get great wines by the glass!
The service is very friendly and helpful. In fact the chef is often on the floor greeting people and flaming cheese! I also like the open air kitchen so you can see them in action.
All in all, Zander and the Vintage had better watch out!
