Go for the personality. Great Chicago dogs and links...Good burgers and Philly's too. If you expect the staff to fluff you then go to McDonald's.
I don't get it. I visited the Plymouth location. It was my first trip and deinitely my last. This is average food and priced too high. The staff was rude.
The Best Chicago Food in Minneapolis!. Their Chicago Dog Rules! The best Chicago style food in Minnesota! They have a location in Plymouth too!
Real Chicago right in Minneapolis.
Yeh, it's small, but it's got perrrrsonality. And the food first in its class. It's obvious that the owner, Uncle Franky, really loves food and knows how to run a restaraunt. It's tasty, boisterous, loud and full of everything you would find in Chicago. The best thing on the menu, aside from the Chicago style dogs, is the Gut Buster. It lives up to its name.
Tell Uncle Franky something he doesn't know about Chicago, and i am betting the drinks are free.
Best Italian Beef in the Twin Cities, great hot dogs. Yeah, its a hole in the wall on the edge of NE Minnapolis, but it's worth the venture. Nothing fancy here, just great customer service and top notch "Chicago Style" food all at a price that is beyond reasonable.
You'll find Scooby Doo and hot dogs, too, at this wacky, cartoon-themed Northeast deli..
In Short
Painted to match the acid green, yellow, and purple of the Scooby gang's Mystery Machine, the tiny place screams cartoon, even without the TV almost always tuned in to the Cartoon Network. It's perfect for a cheap lunch on the run, or an extremely humorous, sit-down meal. Get a juicy Polish or Vienna sausage, or a 100 percent, high-quality beef weiner, Chicago-, New York-, or Detroit-style with all the fixin's, served on steamed poppy-seed buns.
Kitchy Cute. This place is a cute hole in the wall. From the lime green EVERYWHERE to the interesting neighborhood locals. Lots to choose from AND ITS CHEAP. Awesome for a poor college student. It does look like the Mystery Machine. All you need is some Scooby Snacks and Velma, because she is one hip, hip lady.
Mmmmmmm..
The lines creep out the door during lunch because this place is an semi-hidden gem. GOOD QUALITY Chicago dogs, polish sausages, burgers, sandwiches, malts, soda fountain, etc. All yummy.
Great prices too - it's not 1990 is it?
Free parking & outside seating w/umbrellas perfect this place.
So many choices - hard to choose. If you haven't been to this new Northeast Hot Dog stand - I recommend you do it immediately. The cheese fries are the best. You can get everything from deli sandwiches to dogs to Scala italian beef ( a true chicago favorite), pizza puffs and now they serve breakfast. I love this place - can't wait til the summer comes for the outdoor seating they say will be going in!!! And every parent should love this as their kids can eat and watch the cartoon channel. It is just amazing!!!
Awesome!.
Franky's is our group's local lunch spot. They have a cartoon, Scooby Doo decor (complete with Dancing Scooby Doo), huge screen t.v. with Cartoon Network on all the time, and bright colors on the walls. Just what you need on a work day or weekend!
They have great malts (my personal fav is choc complete w/Giradelli choc), I hear good dogs (haven't had one but my Chi-town friends love it) and a nice veggie burger. Very receptive to suggestions too. You gotta love that! Thanks Jay! We love you!
