shame. I spent my summer of 2007 at Gigi's, they had the best talapia taco's and grilled cheese sandwich in town. Since I visit a relative at Walker Methodist it was convenient and inexpensive. However every time I placed an order 'to go" I did not reveive what I paid for. I did not mind it at first but it became a routine. I cannot believe that a bistro that claims to be so trendy can be so cheap ! There are 10000000 bistro's in MSP and whether you care or not Ms. Gigi, I will never step foot in your bistro again. what a shame !

Not the same old gigi's. I used to brag to my friends about "my neighborhood cafe" but my last couple of trips to gigi's have been terrible. The food has become bland AND more expensive and the bakery bars that we ordered were stale. They seem to have new staff AGAIN and the woman helping me couldn't tell me anything about the wine list. I know I sound like some crab, but this place used to be really great and has gone downhill fast. If you are in the neighborhood I guess you should be happy to have somewhere to go, but i certainly wouldn't go out of my way to pay so much for such tasteless food.

Great Food and Nice People. My husband and I visited Giggi's for lunch the first time a few weeks ago - I am sorry it took us so long to go! I had an egg salad sandwich and broccoli soup - both were delicious. My husband had the enchilada casserole (veg) and LOVED it. The staff was pleasant and attentive, the atmosphere was relaxing and nice, the food was yummy. I will be bringing my mother to Gigi's this weekend - I know she will love it!

Ooops. After reading all of the great reviews I took my two kids with me to gigi's last weekend. I was really underwhelmed. The staff was friendly but the food was bland and overpriced. I had an egg tart that was soggy and flavorless and my children shared a pasta salad with overcooked noodles. We all shared a chocolate chip cookie that was nothing to get excited about. It's a cute place but we were very disappointed with the food.

This Uptown cafe serves eclectic home cooking that doesn't leave out the veggie and vegan crowd.. In Short
Since opening its doors in 2005, Gigi's has grown to become one of the best places in town to grab a meal on the go. This isn't fast food. In fact, everything at this warm, candlelit spot could be considered "slow food": Dishes like spinach parmesan tarts, mushroom red-pepper tarts and chicken empanadas are all delicately made and beautifully displayed. It makes sense that these meals with flaky crusts and decadent ingredients mirror their sweet counterparts. Gigi's is known for its homemade baked goods like tiramisu cheesecake bars, blueberry lemon tart, rhubarb streusel and chocolate cake.

Delicious and quick!. Gigi's cafe has the best bread and North African Chicken Stew~! My friend took me there for lunch on my Birthday and the service was prompt, and I have found a new favorite soup! It was so flavorful, curry, chunks of chicken and tomatoes in the most heavely broth. The bread was the perfect compliment to this meal. I work right down the street and I tell everyone to go there, I am just that thrilled with with the food and the staff!

A sweet neighborhood cafe.. I have loved Gigi's since I moved into the neighborhood. They make a wonderful selection daily selection of organic dishes including salads, quiches, fabulous soups, sandwiches and some amazing dessert items i.e. pastry, brownies.

The know how to make a good cafe con miel (which most coffee shops do not) and they have a large selection of wines by the glass and a nice beer selection as well.

The dining room is pretty large with internet hookups and the other side is more like a romantic wine bar and there is plenty of outdoor seating on 36th avenue with some shade available and good people watching;a nice neighborhood hardware store next door as well.

They are very recycle and re-use conscious, so an earth friendly choice as well. It's a great place for families, definitely for singles, and a nice date place. It's a hangout for bikers both motor and non, joggers, walkers and everyone in between. It appeals to all of the diversity of the neighborhood and it's nice to see the wide array of people that live in that area. I wish there were many more such as this in our neighborhood(s)

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, but often very slow - esp if it's busy, so you need patience. If you're in a hurry, don't expect to get in and out quick with your morning coffee on the weekend. I

f you have some time to spare, hang out for a while with your neighbors and enjoy.

Gem of a place!!. I LOVE Gigi's! The staff is warm and friendly. The food is superb with a great selection of wines and beers. And of course their desserts are scrumptous. Most nights of the week they offer a dinner special. I often go there on Wednesday's with friends because they offer a pizza and bottle of wine for $20. And again, the staff is the best that can be found in the Cities. If you haven't tried this place you are missing out.

GREAT coffee, fantastic French toast, Baby friendly. Gigi's is a great place to have in the neighborhood. It's got great coffee, friendly staff and divine baked goods. Not to mention all the deli items (the Spinach Walnut Burger is awesome!!) The atmosphere is very friendly, and now that I have a baby, I've been meeting with my "Mom and Baby group" every week because they have changing facilities in their CLEAN bathroom! I like going to Gigi's because the service is fast and the servers are all friendly. They have a really good beer and wine selection, which is surprising for a neighborhood cafe! All in all, we love going there just to hang out and chat, read a book or get a glass of wine. Oh and they have GREAT brownies and really good Iced Tea-Lemonade mix. You've got to check it out!

Best desserts...but that's not all. This place is a fresh answer to some of the coffee shops in the area - funny thing is, I originally thought it was just a coffee shop. The difference is all in the food. The coffee, of course, is delightful, but the baked food especially is stellar! I liked the place before I had kids for the evening ambience, but now with two kids we find ourselves there even more often (mostly weekend mornings) - the set up is great with your choice of high stools, the pillow bench, or regular chairs, and there are toys to be played with! But back to the food - it changes depending on the day, and I haven't found anything I don't like. The desserts are the best - can't beat the Worlds Best Cookies, except with the bread pudding topped with fresh whipped cream...or the key lime pie...or the cobblers...mmmm. The only thing I don't like about the place is that they don't open till after I've left for work!
