Won't go back for Brunch. The Food was good. $1 mimosas...nice. Service was fine.... the problem: I asked if I could have my omlet made with egg whites when my server delieverd our food she told me the cook said to tell me if I ever come back they won't do an egg white omlet again and she informed me he "yelled" at her about it. Way to make a guest feel welcomed. Don't worry cook, we won't be back!

Not great. We don't eat out often, but tried Axel's last night. We've been to the location in Eagan and been happy, last night in Woodbury, not so much. The brisket was a bit chewy, and like another reviewer said, didn't come with the promised vegetable. Our server tried to act like he cared if we were happy, but didn't seem to want to be there. Not a great experience for the money.

MISSING VEGETABLES. We haven't been to this restaurant in a very long while. It's so out of the way and hidden that one forgets it there. However, after a long absence and being bored from all the other restaurants in Woodbury, we remember Bonfire since we were close by it. Everything seem fine, read the menu and decided on our choices. On their Entrees it says it comes with vegetables and choice of potato. As the waitress brought out our food, my plate had 2 slices of BBQ beef brisket and my choice of potato which was a baked potato, two small containers one having bbq sauce and the other one had fixings for the potato. There were NO vegetables served with my meal. I guess they consider the sauces as vegetable. What a Rip-Off!! We are NOT returning.

Great ambiance and service.... so-so food. The flirtini is worth the trip by itself. The service is good, and the recipes are good enough that even the talentless hacks in the kitchen can't screw it up too badly. That said... be prepared for any piece of beef or tuna you order to be overdone. Shrimp, on the other hand, will be all but raw -- you'll probably want to take that home with you for further cooking. I'm convinced that they hire the cooks direct from McDonalds. Which is amazing, because they charge as though an actual chef was preparing the food. That said... the recipes and seasonings are good enough that even the no-talent hacks in the kitchen can't screw it up too badly. So, with decent food, good ambiance, and that killer flirtini... we end up going pretty often. I just have to resist the urge to go to the kitchen and show the short-order cooks how to properly prepare a meal. (And, no, I'm not a professional. I just actually like food and enjoy preparing it.) In short... fire all the cooking staff, hire someone with some culinary training, and you'll have a top-notch restaurant on your hands.

THE PLACE for pretentious people and overpriced fair. Maybe its just that I only seem to return to Axel's on 1/2 price wine night, but I have not have experiences to rave about. Axel's is 50-50 on wait service - half stellar and half snobby slouches. The bartender is a total jerk...not quite sure what part of serving drinks her doesn't understand. The food looks interesting, but after tasting mussels, wings, beef appetizer and some "signature" soufle bread - I am not impressed in the least for the price of the fair. I would not return if it wasn't for the insistence of friends who live in the neighborhood. The success is only made possible my its location an convenience to its patrons. If you're not living in the Prestwick community, there are dozens of restaurant/bars with much better food, much better service and all at a much more reasonable price. This store certainly doesn't give the other Bonfire Grill's their due justice.
