The food is excellent!. The food is excellent! I had the horseradish crusted salmon. Our waitress (Dana) was very nice & professional. A neat little place with unique atmosphere. If you're looking for a good place with great food in downtown Minneapolis go to Ike's.
Great Breakfast!. Never been disappointed here. Awesome breakfast in a great environment. Don't pass up the bloody mary!
Club Sandwiches. While waiting for a delayed flight, being hungry from a full day of travel, I popped into Ikes at the MPSP airport. The menu was pricey for burgers and sandwiches but I elected to stay. While scanning the menu I thought the turkey club would be good. Well upon receiving it from the waitress the first thing I noticed was the fries were somewhat burnt and dripping grease. (Lovely) The coleslaw was far too wet for me and full of mayonaise so I never touched it. Being hungry I started eating the club sandwich. After two bites I had a burning sensation in my mouth. Also the beef in there was stringy and unedible. Anyway I managed to eat the first half with two refills of iced tea. Since my mouth was still burning I decided to open the remaining half. Well to my surprise it was full of jalopeno peppers. Never had I seen this in a club sandwich. The whole experience was terrible and this was the worst club sandwich I've ever experienced anywhere. My stomach burned all the way to Baltimore and promised that will be the last time I dine at Ike's at the airport.
Try The Guacamole and Steaks. Ubber good. Fun, good good, fast service, but a bit on the expensive end.
Best burger in town!. Every time I go back here I seem to love their burger more. With all of the different options to choose from my taste buds are never bored! This is a nice juicy burger.
awesome burger. I love the concept, the space is supper cool, the burgers are awesome, the staffs are friendly, and price is a little much but I'll will be back.
Dont dine at the bar at the Airport. Bartenders are brusque and unfriendly. The service we received was very slow and impersonal even though the bar was not busy. We never received the food we ordered and had to leave to catch our flight after half an hour of waiting. They forgot to put our order in and we never got refills on our beverages or asked for a second drink.
I love it here. The ambience is cool but the food is delicious. I really like the burger/fries, the beef sandwich, the guacamole, the breakfast with the bloody mary and huge pastry. What else? My review isn't very excited but this place rules!
SUB PAR, in every way..
I went to Ike's for dinner before attending a show at Orchestra Hall. I was please with the ambiance of the bar, but everything else was sub- par. The menu was over priced, so my group of four decided to share some appetizers. The lobster corn dogs were not edible. The potstickers were alright, and the ribs were delicious but the portion was unbelievably unjustified for the price of the plate. The bloody MAry was pretty good and I enjoyed having the homeade cookies at the end of the meal. Overall, the place was disappointing. The food was sub par and the service wasn't any better.
PRO- complimentary cookies with your bill
CON- Crowded and overpriced
Gone downhill FAST Horrible service, mediocre food..
6 months ago, I was an Ike's fan. I've been there 20 - 30 times over the past 5 years -- yet, the last two times have been horrible. In sum, the biggest challenge is inept service that has an entitled air -- one that suggest that YOU are lucky to eat there. We sat at the bar this last time and our bartender had to be flagged down for a first drink as he was too busy flirting with single women, flagged down later (after 10 minutes of effort) for new drinks, catsup for burgers, etc.
Our entire meal was messed up with our appetizer coming with our entrees (how long DOES guacamole take anyway?); our burger did not come as ordered; the bloody mary tasted like tomato juice without any zest or excitement; and when we asked for sauce the waiter was aggressive and confrontational. I'm not sure what Ike's is thinking, but, a waiter feeling like they can point at there name tag and correct a patron on how to address them, is NOT acceptable.
Our night ruined, we discussed the horrible experience with the hostess. "Oh (shoulder shrug), sorry," was the mature response of management. Kudos to Ike's on loosing a fan and having ruined our celebration that night.
Do NOT go here -- you WILL be disappointed.
