New Location. I am the owner of Chocolat Celeste.

It's been a while since the last reviews. A couple things to note are that we have moved. We have a new beautiful kitchen. There is plenty of parking. The ingredient chocolate is from a company that believes in sustainable agriculture methods. We continue to use butter from Hope Creamery and whipping cream from Pride of Main Street. We have upgraded our packaging, too. We hope you will stop by to see us. There's always a free sample.

Chocolat Celeste. Have to admit that I’ve tasted more than my share of chocolate during my life. Often matched with a good red wine….and now I have found Chocolat Celeste. Creamy, rich flavor…my guess is there may well be some Oompa-Loompahs in the back room!

Yum yum chocolate truffles. I only review stuff I like and these chocolates are absolutely worth a trip to an industrial section of St. Paul. Darling pretty in pink shop. Chocolate truffles in hazelnut liquor, champagne, dulce de leche that had me twirling. Each one is a dessert on its own. Exactly what’s in them I don’t know. But I brought home a small shopping bag on the airplane. My friend Christine ate some bon bons with NO ALERGIC or GLUTEN INTOLERANT reaction whatsoever. I called and the owner said everything is preservative free and 100 percent fresh with no additives. Amazingly delightful. Artful too. Love em. They set a high standard that may leave me disappointed with other chocolates in the future. I would say this is a special treat when you want to be good to yourself or someone else. Really worth it.

Charge for the box very silly...... Yeah, I get the fact that the truffles are hand made and are tasty. They are also $4 a piece. There aren't many small indulgences that cost that much. Great. I'm willing to pay that. But to charge a dollar to put it into a little cardboard box???? I doubt the box is worth a fourth of what the chocolate is. Seriously? Those aren't hand made. They are cut in some factory somewhere. When you buy a really expensive designer shirt they give you the box and tissue paper for free. It's one of those niceties of buying a premium product. Charging you so much for the box is like adding a fee to your fine dining restaurant for using the napkin.

Charge for the chocolate....not the boxes.

Where has my old chocolate store gone?. I was an avid fan of this local favorite until recently. The customer service is very poor. My last visit felt as if I was interupting the gal behind the counter. I used to feel totally welcomed and enjoyed stopping in. Of course I could stand the poor service if the quality was still the same. Celestes chocolates have really lost thier appeal. Dry, poor taste, and notably expired chocolate being sold. Event the variety of non truffle product has disappeared. Where are the Almond Als? I am unsure what has happened but I would no longer recommend this boutique.

What happen to customer service???. Very disappointing after hearing great reviews from others. Went in a few days ago only to find a older woman talk down to me about my purchase! Apparently I wasn't spending enough money on a gift, as if $4 a truffle isn't expensive! I purchased a nice little box of 4 truffles......grand total $21.00 ridiculous. How prestigious can a store on University Ave be?! Well at least the Ol' lady at the counter seem to think so.

Unbelievable!. I went in to chocolat celeste a few weeks ago, amazing experience! The service was impeccable and who doesn't love to be greeted with a sample?! Once I had the sample, that was it, I might as well handed over my visa right then and there. I've never met a retail girl who was so eager to help and answer all my questions! I bought 2 boxes, one of the truffles (chili pepper is amazing!) and a box of single origin chocolates (which I learned all about while was there). Needless to say, I kept one box for myself and gave the other as a hostess gift, which went over extremely well. Overall, unbelievable and I will be stopping by a lot more often.

Things I never knew about chocolate .... I really love chocolate and I really, really love Chocolat Celeste. I didn't know there was a difference between the truffles you buy at an upscale gift shop and the ones you get from Chocolat Celeste, but their staff explained to me that because they leave the preservatives out, the flavor is more intense. They also put fresh whipping cream in the truffles. I am not sure what other truffle makers use, but something makes Chocolat Celeste truffles so much better. It does mean you have to refrigerate them if you won't be eating them within a couple weeks, but these never last that long around my house.

Not worth the hype. Being a true lover of chocolate, I am always checking out the newest specialty shops with good chocolate. I had heard many ads on the radio for Chocolate Celeste. Of course, I needed to check it out. It was difficult to find at first and then when I did find it, it was difficult to park. The shop is small but cute. The staff were very attentive. The truffles were beautiful and smaller than I thought they would be, especially for the price. I bought many to sample and didn't like any of them but the Chai truffle. The centers tasted like a frudge brownie mix and there wasn't much diference in one flavor from another. I am sorry to say-the name is great, the packaging cute, but the taste not to my liking.

Great for Gifts and Get extra for Yourself!. I ordered 50 boxes of the 4 large truffles in a gift box to give as gifts for clients. Everyone was so easy to work with. I needed some special details on many of the chocolates and they accommodated my needs perfectly! My clients loved the surprise gift and comment on how beautiful and tasty they were.

I appreciate the quality product as well as the outstanding service! I will definitely recommend and will use them again.
