Great Customer Service. I just recently visited Solera's for the first time and had a wonderful time! I went with a bunch of girl friends for a night out and the staff could not have been more helpful and nice. The atmosphere is young and hip and we had so much fun! I will definetely return for the great food and nice staff!

Fantastic Service. Solera is our FAVORITE restaurant! This place is awesome. The food is great, the service is super accomodating, and the prices can't be beat. I loved the atmosphere of this place - very casual, very young and in the heart of downtown.

Gorgeous Space & Wonderful Night. Just visited this restaurant for the first time...What a gorgeous space?! This is one of the few places Barcelona has been recreated tastefully. The food was delightful and our professional server guided us through the all-Spanish wine list with ease. Highly recommend the tasting menu. Will return.

Disappointed in Solera. There has been a lot of disappointment in Solera as of late. I agree that it is not smart to judge an eatery/bar on one experience. NYE was a massive disaster. It is also smart to read reviews spanning back 6 to 9 months. This industry is famous for heavy employee/management turnover, so 6 to 9 months is an excellent gauge. There doesn't appear to be 'braggingly' happy customers recently. This technique in judging a potential place hasn't faild me yet.

Unfair Reviews. I have to say that I'm reading posts about Solera with disbelief.

The comment "I gave the bar a chance to regain our confidence in this place and was told they were not interested in our business." doesn't even sound like Solera's staff or management. I've done a fair amount of business with the restaurant and that is not how they handle feedback...good or bad.

My experience at the bar on New Year's Eve, the bartenders were moving at a fast pace and joked around with the guests. In fact, one of the bartenders was so entertaining to watch while he was pouring that the guests applauded him as he was handing out drinks.

Yes, it was a crush on New Year's Eve. But I guess for a night of celebration, I would take that over going to a party with low attendance. The people watching was rather entertaining and those around us seemed to be having a good time.

It's fine to give feedback, but do it objectively without slandering a restaurant / bar for a single night out of the year.

Will not return. I have always been a fan of Solera. I must say that I was a frequent customer especially because their sangria - in my opinion, it is the best in town. However, because of the experience I had on NYE's, I will no longer return. When economic times are hard, you expect excellence when you pay $70 a person for admission and alcohol. The staff was less than excellent and unprepared and the bartenders were slow and unfriendly. I hope Solera's management as well as the owner take these comments seriously in order to prevent a reoccurence.

RE: Unfair Reviews. Please read every review in the last 6 months. It appears that we are not alone. Something has obviously changed at this place. I do not feel that my previous review was unfair. Everything I said was factual. Therefore, it is not slander. The bartender you mention may be the bartender in the downstairs bar. He was working very hard, and I tipped him well for his service. I spoke (kindly, mind you) with many of the employees that evening, and they were as upset as the patrons because upon the employees everybody was taking out their frustrations.

We gave the bar a chance to regain our confidence in hosting another event in which several (at least 50) of the discontened NYE party-goers would attend. It was a drink special that other bars downtown duplicate because of our repeat business as young professionals. Their refusal to host ensures that none of us will ever go there again. Marketing 101: Happy customers will tell 2-3 people about their experience. Unhappy customers will tell 9-10. All of us plan to tell much more than 9-10.

Rude staff, freezing cold, no drinks, packed. I will never again return to Solera just because of New Years Eve 2009. I had never been there and now will not go no matter what! I had a lot of fun sitting in the gay bar across the street by myself because I literally could not feel my legs from standing in the cold so long. OH, and I loved the kind courtesy of all the bouncers, NOT. How rude, seriously. Get some manners, I don't even know how you were hired. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Oh, and the girls with the horrible body paint?? Paalleezze... Whoever put this event together needs to relocate.

AMATEUR NIGHT OUT AS USUAL!!!. AS USUAL, MY GIRLFRIEND AND I BATTLED OVER WETHER TO GO OUT ON NYE OR NOT. I DID NOT WANT TO GO OUT BECAUSE I KNOE WHAT TO EXPECT. SHE CONVINCED ME TO GO TO SOLERA. THE ONLY REASON FOR ME POSTING THIS IS BECAUSE I AM TIRED OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING. I CAN NOT RATE IT FIVE STARS BUT WE ACTUALLY HAD A GREAT NIGHT. WE HAD THE PRE FIXE DINNER WHICH WAS OUTSTANDING. AND ALTHOUGH IT DID BECOME VERY CROWDED IT HAD A GREAT FEEL TO IT. IN MY OPPINION THE NIGHT WAS GREAT UNTIL ALL THE NYE AMATEUERS ARRIVED TO GET DRUNK AND THROE UP!! AND NO I DO NOT WORK AT SOLERA. I MAY NOT GO OUT ON NYE AGAIN BUT I WILL RETURN TO SOLERA. P.S. NEXT TIME STAY IN FRIDLEY FOR NYE AND LEAVE MPLS ALONE!!!!

The Good w/ the Bad. As I see there are alot of mixed reviews of NYE I would like to say that I had a good time. In perspective, was it a packed house on NYE?...ya. Was it busy and did you have to wait for drinks...ya? But what do you expect when you pay a ridiculous low price of $70 for Grey Goose and Patron all night in a downtown Minneapolis bar on NYE. It was overcrowded and the heaters didn't work on the rooftop when I tried to smoke, but the bartenders up there greeted me with a smile everytime. And I believe for the money spent I had a great time with all my friends.
