I enjoyed my appointments with Ande over the years at the very hip Salon D'pugh, but she now continues her artistry at Spalon Montage in Edina (952)-915-2900!
BEST HAIR CUT AND COLOR EVER
I finally decided to get away from coloring my hair the rainbow and decided to go back to my natural. The owner did my hair(Donna i believe) and we looked at all the pictures of the colors(and cut) that i was hoping for and we talked about everything to make sure we had the same idea in our heads. she talked with me the whole way through and made really good conversation(despite the massive age difference because i'm young) she was very friendly the whole way through and when it all came out, my hair was exactly what I wanted in every way, i've never stuck with a hairstylist but I know I'm gonna stick with her, this is one of THE best hair cuts and color i've ever gotten and i've already suggested her to many of my friends.
I'd honestly suggest this salon and the owner to everyone.
The Hair Whisperer – I was recommended to Ande through a few friends and I can see why. I was looking for a change and took a big leap by going to a new salon/stylist with whom I have no history.
Ande took her time. We looked at pictures, talked about my tendencies, my low maintenance style (to the point of lazy), and really got a feel for "me". Her perception was dead-on. I couldn't be happier with my cut.
I got exactly what I wanted, even though I didn't know exactly what that was walking through the door.
Thanks to my friends for the recommendation, and thank you Ande for making me look hot!!
LOVE Donna and Salon D'Pugh – LOVE LOVE LOVE Salon D'Pugh.
Donna has given me some of the best haircuts I've ever had (which isn't easy with fine, thin hair), and I will continue to be a loyal patron!
Not good! – When I arrived for my appointment I wasn't even greeted by the owner when I said hello. She just stood there a moment and then walked away. I requested a scissor cut and when my stylist Brooke started cutting my hair she used a razor. Not only that but she did not listen to me about how I wanted my hair cut. I ended up with my hair way too short in the back and a faux hawk I never asked for. Oh well, it grew out and I won't go back unless the owner makes it right!
Ande is simply the best! – Ande recently moved to Salon Dpugh, and the atmosphere certainly suits her. She's been cutting my hair for more than 5 years, and I've moved with her wherever she's gone. I have pretty basic guy hair, and she's always does an amazing job of getting it to where I don't have to think about it between appointments. She is truly the best!
Best cut in the twin cities! – I first went to see Ande almost three years ago when she was at a different salon. I have never ever ever had a haircut I was happy with before I went to see her, and I haven't seen anyone else since. I went in with long, lank hair and asked her for something different that I would be able to style myself--an hour later I was the happiest girl in town. Ande always takes what I want into account, but never expects me to tell her what style I want (ditto the previous posters). I get compliments all the time. I've probably sent five friends to Ande, and they are all devotees (one moved to Washington DC but only gets her haircut when she returns to Minneapolis--she is that good). She also gives hip edgy styles but never pushes anything you're not comfortable with. I recommend her to everyone--she if the best!
ditto on previous reviewer – Ande = the best hairstylist I've ever had. I've been seeing Ande for almost five years, and I get comments on my hair constantly. What I hear is that I always have "great hair." I give Ande the credit and send people her way. I agree with the previous poster: sometimes you want a stylist to intuit what you want, rather than either force you to be specific or come up with their own ideas. Somehow, in some divine, magical way, Ande has hair intuition. She also thinks about hair constantly, as one would expect from any artist. Once I came to an appointment and she had been thinking about how we would do my hair over two days. Gals, this one's a keeper. Ande loves to make people feel bad-ass and beautiful; lucky for us all that she has the skills and talent to back up her generous and infectious spirit.
Great space, even better stylist in Ande – Ande Bourin recently moved to Salon Dpugh. I really like the space - it's very open with a fun and funky vibe. I also really appreciate that the product displays are not in-your-face.
Ande is fabulous as always. Her ability to listen to what I want from my style is amazing. Even better is her ability to quickly teach me how to repeat the style at home. I've had great haircuts that I could never repeat the styling, which to me is pointless.
Ande has an amazing ability to absorb who you are and what you want from your hair. I really appreciated that I didn't have to tell her exactly what I wanted in hairstylist terms. She took my "I just want a change", accommodated my time and effort needs and produced a style that got me a ton of compliments. Even the guys in my notoriously geeky office noticed! My partner, who I've been trying to wean off Great Clips for years, got a great hair cut that even takes into account her mannerism of running her hand through her hair a certain way.
If you're looking for a good, stylish cut that you can actually maintain and you're not sure exactly what you want, I can't recomment Ande enough.
