My First Tattoo

I love my first tattoo! I had an idea in my head and I described it to Chris and he drew it out for me. The drawing was everything I wanted. The tattoo turned out beautiful! He put the tattoo at a great angle on my back and I have had so many compliments. I'm already planning my next tattoo and I just got it done 2 days ago. Thanks Chris your the best!

My experience at Planet Ink was less than desirable.

I recently went to Planet Ink to see if it was a good place for me to get my tattoo. I wanted a roman numeral 8 on my shoulder. Here's what happened.

My friend and I walked in. We immediately noticed the smell. It was an odor, I would say identical to a port-a-potty. It was pretty overwhelming. We looked around a little more, noticing that the place probably hadn't been dusted or mopped for months.

A woman came in and asked if she could help us. I said I wanted a tattoo, if they had time. I was certain they had time because I didn't once hear the noise of tattoo guns, which is probably a sign of some sort. She walked towards the back and quickly turned around and asked me if I was 18. I said yes, because I actually am, and she continued on her way.

A while later a man came in and asked what he could do for me. I said I wanted a roman numeral 8 tattooed on my shoulder. He looked extremely confused and said, "Well that's an unusual one...." and he was serious. You know, actually, no it's not. I will be the first to admit that my tattoos are pretty unoriginal. He didn't seem to know what it was either. Anyway, he said that the size I wanted, which was pretty big, would cost me the minimum of $60. He walked in back for a second and my friend and I made a run for it.

I would definitely NOT recommend this place to anybody. If you go here because they don't check ID's, think again. You don't want a tattoo that you'll regret. Wait a few years and go somewhere legit and clean and friendly.

I STARTED WORKING HERE IN APRIL OF 2009. MY NAME IS TRAVIS. SOME OF THE REVIEWS I've READ ARE TRUE TO MY KNOWLEDGE AND SOME ARE BOGUS! I AGREE WITH THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SHOP AND BROUGHT IT TI THE OWNER. IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS, THE SHOP HAS MADE HUGE IMPROVEMENT. ITS A DIFFERNT SHOP ALL TOGETHER! ITS NOT DARK AND FULL OF SMOKE LIKE SOMEONE HAS STATED AND FUTHERMORE IS CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL. THE ONLY THING THAT IS THE SAME IS THE OWNER. NEW ARTIST THAT TAKE TIME TO ADRESS THE NEEDS OF CLIENTS AND PROVIDE SERVICE THAT EVERYONE DESERVES. ME, I LIKE BEING THE UNDERDOG. IT GIVES ME THE DRIVE TO EXCEL TO MY FULL POTENTIAL. I INVITE ANYONE TO STOP BY AND SEE THE CHANGES. WE ARE BY FAR THE TATTOO SHOP WITH MOST HEART AND DRIVE AROUND. WE WILL SATISFY YOUR NEEDS AND EXPECTATIONS. THAT WHY WE ARE "THE TWIN CITIES FINEST"
