I went to get my nose pierced and ended up with at tattoo as well. I was recommended by my friend to go there. They were friendly and curtious and took the time to make sure I liked and understood everything that was going to happen.
find a real app certified shop – was recommended by a friend because of the "decent" prices. i went in knowin exactly how i wanted my lip pierced and the guy tells how it should be---him bein a "professional' and all. i should have walked out and gone else where, but i was excited and impatient to get my lip done. there wasnt anyone else in there gettin any piercins but i was sat down, pierced and basically pushed out.
Piercing less than ideal.... – Went and had my lip repierced here. Unhappy with the end result and the overall experience.
The piercing itself is crooked, at a downward angle, so the back of the stud continuously gets caught on my teeth when I eat and talk. Also the piercer convinced me to have it done lower than my old one so now I have an obvious dimple right about the new one from the old one that closed up. They do not give you an option on jewelry, they only offer one kind of stud (or so I was told). It was very quick and had a rushed feeling about it - I was in and out in under 15 minutes. I did not feel it was sufficiently clean....the jewelry I saw them take out of a sterilized wrapping, but when I entered the room the clamp and needle were already laid out. They only quickly wipe the outside of my lip with an alcohol pad and did not clean the inside at all. The woman who pierced my lip pierced it and put the stud in and then said "I don't feel well, I need to leave" and walked out of the room before the ball was screwed onto the stud. Another piercer had to come and finish it. They did not go over how to clean it, the healing time or when it was ok to change the jewelry, and I wasn't given any sort of after care instruction pamphlet or paper like other places have. They also did not ask for my I.D. or have me fill out paper work (my friend who told me about this place gets all her work done there and personally knows the woman who owns it I guess)....
I would not recommend Planet Ink and I do not plan on having any other piercings or any tattoos done there.
They suck real bad – Planet ink is garbage as hell.
Not a good shop – Ok this shop is the worst shop ever. I was told that this shop is owned by drug addicts and the artist are always high.
Bob the weird piercing guy!!! – hmmmm....Bob has pierced me several times..each time i go there i have this uncertain feeling....the piercing guy is very phony, weird and appears to be high on street drugs 24/7.....
Then he makes some very crazy comment about his sister...please dont tell her how much i charged you....like he is doing u a favor when infact he aint....
the last piercing this guy did for me was unsatisfactory.i told him to change the position of my piercing ....he got mad and threatened to call the police ..like that was to deter my request....i calmly told him to go ahead and call the police.......
i was livid ..but again....i should have learnt from my previous experience...i advise u folks to run very far from this shop....the people there are very unprofessional.....Imagine this dude talking very loud across the room to my retreating figure..... "why re u tripping?" i just ignored the fool and was glad to be in my ride..........such a fool
Travis is AWESOME! – I recently started a tattoo with Travis and I should probably explain that it was my first one. I didn't know what to expect and I was nervous after every thing I had read on here. However, I spoke with Travis on the phone and he was genuinely excited to work on my tattoo and overall got me excited about going to Planet Ink for said tattoo.
I had the same first impression as many of the people on this site, but to be honest I had never been in a tattoo shop before. The location (in my humble opinion) sucks. I am not a big fan of down town. And the place is, for lack of a better word, a little drab. I am glad that I didn't hold that against them and gave them a chance.
The staff were all awesome. They answered every one of my questions. They waited patiently while I tracked down some cash. NOTE: CASH ONLY! While I was getting my tattoo done, all of the staff came back to see Travis's work. They all asked me how I was doing (I am pretty sure that they expected me to flake out and run for the hills, even mid tattoo!) All of them were quick to praise Travis on his work.
Travis, Travis, Travis!! My artist, was just that, a brilliant artist. His lines are supremely clean. His attention to detail (mine is a fairly complicated piece) was amazing. He took pride in his work and wanted it to be exactly what I had envisioned. He was comfortable to talk to and patient with me, when I needed a moment (which was only a couple of times during a fairly long session).
So all in all, thank you Travis, and thank you Planet Ink Tattoo. I will see you all in a couple of weeks, so we can finish up the tattoo!
To the rest of you, come down, meet the staff, talk with the artists, and see if you feel comfortable with them. If you get a bad feeling, don't stay. But, if you are like me, you will give them a chance, and be happy with the results!
Really not happy with this experience – My friend said she had been there before and they did great work. So we decided to go, Her, me, and my husband. She got hers done and it looked great right away, my husband got his done and it looked good right away and so did mine. Now, after healing, all 3 of ours look like crap. Mike did them all and all three have shading problems and the lines are sloppy. Mine is on my chest so its pretty visible and I want it to look amazing. They were all pretty expensive for what we got done and none of us are happy!
Haters – I was readin reviews of some people complaining and i've been getting tattoos done from professional tattoo shops since i was 16(youngest age u can get one done with parents ok) i am 23 yrs old now. I have 13 tattoos getting my 14 done tomorrow and planet ink is by far the best experience ive had at a tattoo shop. Excellent prices and great work. Travis is by far the best artist i have came across in my 7 years of getting tattoos! I highly recommend him to everyone. Much love planet ink, forget these haters out here, your still getting paid while they hating.
