Special Effects Salon.
Always made feel welcome and as if my custom really matters. I absolutely adore the Yonka Facial. It's
so relaxing and skin is fantastic after it. Girls will always adapt the products to suit your skin needs
on the day and are always willing to offer advice on how to care for your skin. I happily recommend
people to go here as service is 1st class and location is perfect with easy parking. Thanks Kerri and
girls. Their place is at Saint Paul, MN.

My favorite new salon.
I love Special Effects Salon.
The staff are wonderful, the salon is lovely, downtown White Bear Lake is great, and I love the new manager! She is a really good stylist and makeup artist.
I'm a lifer!

Happy customer!. Last month I walked into Special Effects to buy some Aveda products and started talking to Carol about my hair, how it has changed, what I wanted it to do and Carol offered to cut it the next day for me. It was a hard decision since I have been going to the same person for over 25 years! . Well... I couldn't be happier with my new hair cut. It's easy to work with, has lots of bounce and I constantly get compliments from friends. It was hard to tell my other stylist I wasn't going to keep my hair appt with her the next week but for now I will be returning to Carol at Special Effects.

Lovely Experience.
Special Effects Salon has a warm comfortable feel to it when you walk through the door and the team is very welcoming. I received a seated chair massage at their Holiday open house and will for sure be back for a full 60 min massage!
My hair has been colored and cut by the owner and I have always left with exactly what I wanted! It is an absolute joy to spend my day with the Special Effects Salon family.

Not good enough.... Facial was average. Nails done by an unprofessional sassy girl. She did not do a good job at all. Not good enough to not stay at home and give yourself a manicure.

Worst experience ever - I now have fried green hair.
This was the worst experience ever. They charged me $128 bucks, and I ended up with fried green hair. My hair used to be pretty and long, now I'm going to have to chop it off and get expensive extentions.
I went back in the next week to have it fixed, only to have the owner chastize me and say it was my fault. They then didn't listen to what I wanted, and proceeded to bleach my hair all over again - but still left the green in, from the first time they color my hair!
What a nightmare! My hair hasn't left from pony tail because I'm too embarrased to walk around with GREEN HAIR!
When I tried to call the manager - Carol, again, she ignores all of my calls and won't return any of them.
Good luck if you decide to go there - I won't step another foot in that door.
