DO NOT BUY FROM CARROLL's. My husband and I went to Carroll's on a referral from two different friends who had bought from there a few years ago. We "ordered" a sectional and a leather couch in mid March of 2011. We put half down for the sectional and paid in full for the leather couch on on check card. Upon ordering we were told that we would have both items by Memorial weekend. A couple weeks after we "ordered", we received a phone call from the sales lady who asked us if we were ready to order... Confused and concerned, I told her/reminded her that we did order in March. The lady apologized and told me she had mixed us up with another order. Memorial weekend came and went. I called and asked what was up and they told me that the sectionals vendor was backed up and we could expect the sectional around the 4th of July. The 4th of July came and went... and no couch was delivered or contact made with any updates. So I called, and got the run around... again. They assured me that I would receive the sectional about August 10/11th.... but again, the 10/11th came and went. Extremely frustrated, I told my husband he needed to deal with this now... he called the store, got them same run around I had been getting. Asked for the owners number. My husband called the owner and left him a voicemail message telling him that this was all very fishy and we don't want anymore bull$hit. The owner returned my husband's call and said he is having cash flow problems and they are going out of business. He explained that a third party will be handling the business until they are closed officially in the end of November. My husband asked for a refund, and we were refunded our money for the sectional. I am concerned about what would have happened to our money if we had not been so aggressive and actually believed their BS. I wanted to share our story incase others are having trouble with them... and for everyone else; do not buy anything from Carroll's furniture!

I went to Carrolls in May 2011 after a recommendation from my friend who just bought furniture from him and ordered a sectional that we saw at his house.
Janice (scotts wife i guess) took care of us and we were in a hurry to get the couch delivered within 3 weeks. She said she had stock and it should be OK for the delivery date. It was supposed to be delivered June 17th and i called Scott a few days before to confirm and he said there was a driver issue and it should be there by June 23rd and we got the couch yesterday.
Whenever i called he was nice and same goes with Janice. I think i will go back if i need anything else in the future.
ohh i forgot the delivery guys were too good.
Lousy Salespeople. We bought furniture from them back in '03 and would not do it again. Like the others have said, they are poor at communication and don't fulfill order promises. Our order took longer than they said it would to come in and we had to call them to be finally told it was in. Quality of furniture didn't seem as good as the display model.
Terrible Service. We were excited to find the exact coffee table we wanted for a really good price; however, it wasn't worth it since it has been six weeks and still no coffee table. We were told two weeks. To make matters worse, I've had to call to get updates from them because they don't have the organization or politeness to call and keep me updated on the status of my order. Each time I call it is as if they have no clue what I ordered or its delivery status. I politely complained to them and all they could say was, "Okay." Needless to say, I will never use them again. It is a shame because I love supporting local businesses.
6 months for furniture to be delivered!. Cannot agree with the previous more. SAME EXPERIENCE. Ordered furniture in June - was told it would be here in 6-8 weeks. Scott (the owner) - promised it would be here in August. Called again - spoke his employee who admitted it hadn't been ordered yet - and was told it would be ordered then and be delivered in October. Week after week, delivery date after delivery date passed despite repeated promises. Finally received it in January. Scott (the owner) was rude throughout the process, both on the phone and in person. WOULD NEVER DEAL WITH HIM OR THIS STORE AGAIN! Go elsewhere, spend a little more, and save yourself a hassle.
16 weeks to get 3 chairs!. After a previous positive experience with Carroll's furniture, we went back to purchase new chairs for our kitchen. Apparently a lot has changed in the last 5 years. While the initial service on the showroom floor was excellent, things have been anything but since. We were told that our chairs had to be ordered and would arrive in 10-12 weeks. After nearly 17 weeks we still have no chairs. When we called to check on our order after 12 weeks, it took the staff several days to find our order because it was filed under the wrong letter. Several other phone calls were not returned promptly as well. To compensate us for the inconvenience, Carroll's has offered to deliver the chairs-which we could easily pick up at our own convenience, rather than waiting on them yet again-for free. We will NOT be shopping here in the future, in spite of the fact that they offer access to unique furniture in a variety of styles.
