I read a few of these reviews. Sheesh! I understand that some people have bad experiences and won't be back. I have been over a dozen times with no problems at all. The food is great (love the spicy sauce on the pizza!), the drinks are tasty and the service has consistently been top-notch. I can't wait to be out on that awesome patio now that the weather is nice. Hope it's good this weekend, 'cause Imma goin'.
There was a group of 6 of us out on the Patio, beautiful weather, perfect late afternoon. Adam was our server, or "dude" as he put it, he was very attentive, even tho he had us on the Patio, and tables inside. The food was delicious and hot, the drinks cold and good. Adam is a really nice guy, and a great server, no poor service from him. We will be back again and again, I'd never been there before. What a wonderful place. Thanks everyone at Psycho Suzies!
Very poor service.. I've been to Suzi's four times...two at the old location. My first time at the new site was last year and we sat outside on the deck which was wonderful. But, when they're busy you don't get served; most of the time you have to get your own drinks. Recently a friend and I decided to have our birthday celebration there together. I called a couple of weeks ahead to get information about possibly reserving a couple of tables and was basically told "no" and to arrive there by 4 p.m. if we wanted to save our own spots. We arrived early and went upstairs. There was a spot up a few stairs that was empty so we thought that would work well. A bartender situated in that area (he was not bartending, but preparing food/drinks for another bar) informed us that due to lack of staff that area would not be served, but we were welcome to sit there and get up to get our own drinks. We though "ugh" but oh well it was a spot that would accomodate our group. We went to another open bar in the area to get our drinks and the bartender told some in our group that if we wanted to eat we'd have to order from her at the bar, and we'd have to pick up our food from the bar as well (our seats were about 30 feet from the bar, behind the band). Again we thought 'ugh' but dealt with it. So we are sitting at our self-served tables eating and drinking and a staff member comes over and tells us we should not be eating food up there! That the bartender told us the wrong thing, but since we already had the food we could keep it (!). We were expecting a few more people and asked her if they could order from the bar and she said no. We then pointed out that we were completely serving ourselves - including bringing our own dishes to the bus bins, so really, what was the problem here? She continued to argue with us and then walked away. Then a few minutes later a waiter walked through our area and literally ran into some of my friends and kept walking. They were definitely trying to prove a point and quite obviously stressed out because management hadn't hired enough servers at that point...but, this is their business, this is their job, and they made the customers feel very unwelcome and like we were a nuisance. Later in the evening we moved downstairs to the bar. A waitress said she'd be back to clean the table and get our order but no one ever came back. VERY poor service which stinks because it's a really cool place. I won't return.
DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD THERE. My girlfriend and I went there on a Saturday. We had a wonderful pizzia, Service was great, When I gave my server my card, she came back, and I said it helps you to get cash. She said yes. So I gave her 20% in cash. I put a scratch through the Tip. So when I looked at my Card Bill. there was another 15% there. Called them they said 4 to 5 days. That was 2.5 weeks ago.It is still on there. WATCH THE SCAM
Wonderful food and LOVE the patio!. My boyfriend and I have been to Psycho Suzi's a handful of times this summer to enjoy their new patio overlooking the Mississippi River. One thing to note is that they do allow smoking on the patio, which some people have complained about. The thing with Psycho Suzi's is that yes, the service isn't the best and it is rather slow so when you get there I would highly recommend just putting in your drink and food order in all at once right away just so you're not waiting too long for food. If you like people watching and just enjoying some good food in a casual/fun place then you will enjoy it! Don't expect anything spectacular with the service though, or you will be disappointed. The parking isn't ideal and I don't think we have ever parked int the lot, but its a NE restaurant-what do you expect? A parking structure right out front? I highly recommend the beer battered onion rings (fabulous every single time) and any of their pizzas!! The tots with the sauce are very yummy as well with the sauce having a nice kick to it! All in all, Psycho Suzi's is a wonderful place to go if you don't expect to be waited on hand and foot and you just want to have a fun drink, eat some good food and enjoy the patio. By the way, large groups: don't even bother gettin in there on a Fri or Sat night, it just isn't going to happen.
What a let down. I had been to Psycho Suzi's a few times before at their old location and although it was always crowded I was able to get a table with my group and actually enjoyed it. I loved their pizza and the fun fruity drinks in crazy tiki totem glasses which you could buy. So when my 25th birthday was coming up I was really excited to visit the new Psycho Suzi's with my friends. My husband and I made plans well in advance, called to make reservations and were informed that they didn't take reservations. We were told to get there as early as possible and call when we were on our way. When we got there at 7pm they had at least a 2 hour wait for a table at the restaurant so my friends and I went up to the bar upstairs. It was crowded, we couldn't find a table that we could all sit at (there we're only 8 of us), and the band was so f#*kin' loud I couldn't even talk to anybody, not even people sitting next to me. It took forever for our food and drinks to actually get to us and when I finally did get a drink, it was in a regular glass. Not the cool tiki glass with a silly little umbrella and a piece of fruit like I was expecting. Not to mention the so called "appetizers" (which is all you can get in the way of food upstairs) were awful tater tots, pickle wraps, and cheese curds. It was 10 pm before they even called us to let us know a table was available in the restaurant and by that time I was so disappointed I had enough and wanted to go home. I left with no food in my stomach, a headache, and a whole lot of frustration over my birthday bust. Sadly i will not be returning to Psycho Suzi's.
Not recommended. So we tried the upstairs bar, neat atmosphere, cool band, but the FOOD UGH! The cheese fondue was so runny it would not adhere to the nasty cauliflower that was served with it! The chicken wings were so salty that we could barely choke them down! AND why is the smoking area right at the front door? I smelled like I smoked a pack of cigs from just walking out the front door when we left, GROSS. AND TO TOP IT OFF..THE PARKING IS INADEQUATE. The parking lot is a nightmare! Some drunken loser with a revoked license hit our car! It was not a good experience.
Don't waste your time. After coming here a few times, I can honestly say the service was rude, slow and absolute crap. The reviews each time have gotten my hopes up, however I have been let down almost every time. The final time was when a friend of ours was celebrating a birthday and 8-10 of us were along for the ride. The night started off fine and we were seated fairly quickly, however the food took longer than we expected and the staff was rude when we questioned what was going on. After my experiences with this place, I'm done.
RUDE.
Being Safe, We were Denied Entry to Psycho Suzis because we were dropped off by a Coach Limo. Moments after, a Limo Stretch Hummer with over 10 occupants were allowed to enter.
In regards to our group, there were 5 couples around 30 years old.
It was 7:30 in the evening. We were not intoxicated beyond belief (we had each had a drink or two).
When the stretch hummer drove up they were not questioned, nor did they have a reservation.
The bouncer denied us entry due to a claimed city ordinance.
This claimed city ordinance where "new bars" (since Psycho Suzis was relocated) are not allowed to accept party buses if they want to keep their liquor license.
After some research, there is no documentation of such a city ordinance and thought we were lied to. If the establishment wants to pass judgement on others reserving their right on whom to serve or not serve, then just say that. Don't blame it on the city if there is no law to back up the claim.
We thought we were being responsible. Since we come from all over the metro area, it was easier and safer for all of us to have a fun night out.
Psycho Suzi's Serving Ideals Lack Common Courtesy. I was completely disappointed in Psycho Suzi's. I LOVE their cheese curds, cool tiki glasses, and the design. However, I will never return to this place. The service here is absolutely horrible. I always overlooked it in the past, but not anymore. Their one table, one tab policy is suited to the convenience of the server, NOT the customer. A group of 20 of us decided to meet up at Psycho Suzi's for new years eve. We sat near each other, but at separate tables. Some had been there for many hours before others. Everyone was drinking the same drinks. I asked the server right away to put me on a separate tab with my bf and she refused and walked away without so much as an explanation or apology. As a former server, I was horrified. It is plain laziness. As a former server, if you can't keep track of your tabs, find a new job. If you think that you will get a better tip because you are adding gratuity, think again. I always tip more than what gratuity says, but when you tell me what to tip, I guess that's what you get. We spent a lot of money at their restaurant/bar, yet they were rude, stuck up, unfriendly, and ungrateful. They charged as 5 bucks to go upstairs, then proceeded to close the upstairs and made us go back downstairs. Not only that, but for new years it was a bore. They didn't do anything to celebrate. We didn't even realize midnight had come and gone. Not even a countdown. If you wanna pay 5 bucks for a bottle of beer just to get crapped on for giving your money to them, here's your spot.
