Update..... Hennepin County social worker was incorrect in telling me they were not authorized to provide home studies for special needs....I finally received feedback from the MN Board of Licensing who said that the Hennepin County folks were most likely confused that Wellsprings is not on the list of state reimbursed agencies....whatever the case, Hennepin County needs to get their facts straight. Not only was it shock enough for not getting the home study when I was told I would by Liz Keller, but being told they weren't authorized made me even more shocked and upset. My other information for the review about Liz Keller and the agency still stands as that is my experience with them. It was not good but I have learned that some agencies and social workers may not meet my expectations, and in my experience they may not be as honest as they come across.....so my lesson learned is I should have really investigated them more before choosing them. I hope others have better luck with them.
Pros: none
Cons: Communication, Service

We knew the minute we attended the informational meeting one evening that Wellspring was the right adoption agency for us. They are very professional and polished. They know the business and can navigate you through any type of situation. We adopted both of our children from Wellspring, and throughout both situations, the communication was constant and very open. We felt very comfortable with our adoptive parent counselor, and was thrilled to have the chance to work with her again during our second adoption. Our first adoption was completely closed, but our second adoption we have the benefit of having an open relationship with our birth mother. We know the quality of our relationship with our birth mother is largely due to the work of the team at Wellspring. We really appreciated the adoptive parent support groups and the educational sessions/panels we attended. We met many other adoptive parents through the agency and they are some of our best friends today. We definitely felt the adoptive parent / birth parent panel discussions to be the most interesting and meaningful. Based on our experiences with Wellspring, we highly recommend anyone considering adoption to meet with them and discuss available adoption options. We've already recommended Wellspring to friends, and will continue to refer their services in the future. They are top-notch! Ryan and Kathy, Woodbury, MN
