Dream come true! – I found the perfect dress at this shop!! The two attendants were Jill and her step daughter whose name I forgot (I really only remembered Jill because we share a name!) They were great.
This store has a no appointment policy (at least on the weekends, I think during the week as well). That is my only complaint, as it was pretty busy when we first came in, and we had to wait for our tum.
That being said, once they were finished with the bride in front of us, we got the attention of one if not both of them for the rest of our experience. I found a dress that is perfect. They even suggested that I go to their uptown location to try on my dress in a bigger size (I tried on a six and it didn't even zip). I am planning on visiting that store too but they made it so easy and wonderful that we bought it that day.
If you want a personal, family oriented bridal shop go here- you wont get champagne and red carpets, but you will get personal service, and bottled water (which was much needed and appreciated)
Take of your ring – I felt important and as though I was the best part of the employee's day at 50th and France... on my first visit, during s February snow fall. As the weather changed and the woman working there did, the service was quite the opposite. I was a 'goal' for her, not a customer. Even worse was when I encountered the same woman at the Hennipen store. She was pushy, impersonal and full of different 'observations' from when she saw me in the same dress at the other location. Human error? Maybe. Desire to sell a dress. Probably. Recommended? No. Schedule a weekday appointment with Kim if you want to shop here.
Nice shop – I went to both the Uptown and Edina locations and I actually liked the Edina location better. I thought the staff was easier to work with in Edina. I did not end up buying a dress there (it had my second choice) but they were nice, the samples were in good condition and they helped point out important things about how to style the dress. Thanks, ladies, for a fun experience!
AWFUL EXPERIENCE – I had the most forgettable experience. I can't even begin, but I will never return. Who do these people think they are???? unreal.
Great place for girls with a little "extra" to love. – I was dreading to go wedding dress shopping since I am a plus size. I pictured my booty trying to fit into many small sizes and me walking out of a store miserable. Well, I can say that I had the complete opposite experience and it was all because of Jill. She gave excellent customer service and did a great job educating me on the types of dresses and designers that would help keep "the girls" from getting out of hand. She made me feel like a beautiful bride at a size 18-20. I loved the fact that the store had multiple options for me to try on that fit. Jill even told me about another dress at the other store that she recommended. My sister and I went over to try it on and it was perfect. If your a plus size and worried that your only option is a bridal store option with a mans name, I would recommend going to see Jill at the France Avenue. Ask for her by name!!!!
Awful- go to the Hennipen location instead – I went to both locations (Hennipen and France) in the same day with a friend- we were both looking for bridal gowns. At the Hennipen store, the girls were very willing to help us even though we said we were just looking. They helped us try on gowns, gave us feedback- it was an awesome experience!
The France location, however, was an awful experience. There were 2 women working, the store was completely empty except for one other girl, and we were completely ignored! It was a hassle when I asked one of them to give me a fitting room. Seemed very full of themselves and their store, couldn't be bothered to help 2 college girls. Will never return to this store again, and would never recommend it!
Go to the Uptown location- the dresses are gorgeous designer gowns, they carry pretty much exactly what the France location has, and the staff will treat you as they should: like a lucky bride-to-be!
Friendly and Helpful - Got my dream dress! – The staff was very helpful when I came in to try on gowns, and I was able to find the perfect dress and take it home the same day with me. I would highly recommend the store since it was the first and only place I didn't get a snooty attitude.
Look elsewhere for your bridal needs...not worth the effort. – Good service at first but very poor follow-up. Very poor customer service regarding an ordering error on their part. The staff was rude, inappropiate, and patronizing on several occasions to several members of our party. I would not recommend this store to anyone for any reason, there are plenty of other bridal salons with better selection and better service where you will have a much better experience!
Avoid an unsatisfactory experience – Do not buy your dress here. You will get star service when you walk-in, but once you drop your $2,000, say good-bye to acceptable customer servie. I am VERY disappointed.
