In Short – Shimmering lights fade from amber to yellow to deep gold, bathing the crowd in a warm glow. Polished woodwork, sumptuous leather furniture and a sultry global soundtrack complete the club's upscale look. A steep cover charge weeds out the younger crowd. The Twin Cities' most beautiful congregate here, chatting over cocktails in the glittering, conversation-friendly lounge overlooking the skyline before the infectious deep house, hip-hop and trance beats bring them onto the dance floor.
Trying to be something it's not
by rbscherer
There are cities in which a club such as Escape belongs--New York, London, Paris. Unfortunately, Minneapolis is not one of those cities. In an effort to act like a club that belongs in a swankier city, Escape just becomes a parody of itself. The clientele are laughable, and the staff and management take themselves far too seriously.
To enjoy a slice of genuine Minneapolis nightlife, head to the Block E bars with no cover and less pretension. Better yet, don't bother with Block E at all!
Good Thursdays
by girlfunk
I hear the weekends are pretty dead, so head there Thursday if you like a good crowd and very, very inexpensive cover (FREE) and drinks ($1 wells). Love the hip-hop beats, and should I mention again, super cheap drinks? If you don't like a mixed crowd (all race/ethnicity), then go somewhere else, but if you don't care and just wanna have a good time, Escape is the place for Thursday nights.
- Pros: Drinks
- Cons: Younger crowd 18-25
We were NOT impressed!
by rollmeover
We were not impressed! Staff was rude and not helpful in any way! We came to have fun and spend some money, but by the service we received I don't think they wanted us there or our money. Bathrooms were filthy, music was boring and the dance floor was sticky with broken glass in every area. Most "upscale" nightclubs that I've been to don't allow people on the dance floor with drinks.
Never will visit again!!!
- Pros: none
- Cons: staff, dirty
