Tips for Solimar Wellness Spa

Enjoyed But???. I went there for a manicure/pedicure First off when I checked in the they asked if I'd like a hot wrap around my neck I said sure never received... Pedicure was great she did a wonderful job very relaxing.. Manicure was ok my biggest complaint is the polish they used on me I was there on a Thursday evening, and I woke up Friday morning, and the polish on my nail's was bubbling, and start to chip off. I would expect that if I was not careful but I was. By Friday night I had taken it all off. For the price I would expect it to last a little longer. No I didn't call and complain I guess it is a lesson learned. Won't go there again.

Super Spa Daze. I was looking for Spa in the Twin Cities and Solimar came highly reccomended by a friend. I looked on their website and was very intrigued by the array of different services they have to offer! Very comprehensive and inviting. This was the tip of the icberg. From the feel of the website to the smells as I arrived to the overwhelmingly calm and serine atmosphere this place is truley a gem hidden in Eagan. I can see why they invite you to "Discover Solimar" because it is truly a discovery that I will share with all of my friends. I now have a comfortable and relaxing Spa that I can call my own! You guys made me feel welcome and special. See you next time!!

We will definitely be back!!. I just visited Solimar for the first time last weekend with my boyfriend and we absolutely loved it! The girls at the front desk were very nice to us when we checked in and quickly got us settled in. They gave us hot tea, robes and slippers to change into. After changing we relaxed in what they call the "Oasis", which is a candlelit room with couches, chairs and a fireplace with different drinks, fresh fruit and snacks. They even had warm neck pillows waiting for us!

We tried their duet massage (in the same room) and I've never had a better massage in my life! I wanted something more relaxing and my boyfriend wanted more of a deep tissue. Both therapists really customized our services to make sure we both got exactly what we wanted. The rooms are very nice and are also candlelit. I was so relaxed I fell asleep towards the end!

After our massages we tried their foot facials. LOVED THESE! The pedicure room was very intimate with huge jetted tubs to soak our feet in. It was so nice to have my feet pampered to for a full hour. They gave a great foot massage and i loved the different masques and scrubs they used. The nail techs made sure we were comfortable by getting us another warm neck pillow, some juice and trail mix to snack on.

At the end we both took a hot steam shower (complimentary) and they had everything i needed to get ready for our dinner date (blowdryers, hair products, etc) and one of the esteticians even gave me a complimentary make up touch up! One hairstylist also offered to style my hair but we were already running late so I wasnt able to take advantage of that. However I am coming back in 2 weeks to have some highlights put in and to have a consultation about putting some extensions in my hair!

Overall, we will definitley be back to Solimar. They made our 2.5 hour stay seem like a much needed vacation. The new owners even introduced themselves to us and gave us 15% off for being new customers! This place was truly amazing.

Best Spa in the Cities!. This spa is the Twin Cities best secret! Hidden in Eagan, Solimar is a luxury spa with all the trimmings- warm neck wraps while you wait for services, quiet, relaxing music and an incredible array of services that go far beyond your typical massage/ facial/ mani/pedi. They have monthly specials and discounts on their site and if you sign up for emails, they also have email specials. You get what you pay for- and Solimar is worth it!

Bad Business Practices. Frist I want to say that the services provided were excellent - this is about the management and how they are unwilling to accomodate the customer.

The first time I was there I had two gift cards I wanted to use. They told me I could only use one at a time. After a heated argument with the manager was I allowed to use them. The second time I had received a $350 gift certificate from SpaFinder. I used only $150 worth of services and was told that I would lose the rest of the money if I didn't spend all $350 at once. Again, I had to plead my case to a manager before getting the remaining amount as a credit.

Just recently I was there again - with two gift cards worth about $150. Apparently they had expired in March of this year. No where on the card does it have an expiration date - it only states that there is a penalty fee which I was more than willing to pay. They would not accept the card saying we should have received an email and that the person who purchased the cards was told of the expiration date. I never received an email and the person who gave it to me never said.

As of August 2007 gift cards purchased can no longer expire. This law was passed to deal with hidden fees and expiration dates. Unfortunately these gift cards were purchased before the law took place. It just surprises me that they are not willing to honor these cards. Shady business practices - they already have the money!

The only reason for my visits to Solimar were because of gift cards purchased for me. I will not be returning to Solimar; neither will my family or friends.

Spa Extraordinaire!. Amazing Place! Service is attentive and friendly allowing you to take your time and really relax. They offer Deep Tissue Massages that are hard to find at most spas. I loved the warm neck wraps, the hot towels they wrap your feet in during the massage and steam showers they have available. They also offer complimentary makeup touch ups after as well. I would send all my girl and guy friends here!

Unpleasant First and Only Visit.. I have no comments on services performed here. I had my first and last visit to this establishment today. I stopped in just to buy a gift certificate for a loved one. I just wanted a gift certificate. They requested/demanded my personal information and the information of the person for whom the gift was for. As the kind employee said three times in as many sentences; "it?s the only way we can track you". Track me? I just wanted to buy a gift certificate, perhaps I would give it to my wife or maybe my mother? I was willing to work out some sort of reasonable middle ground. But when I mentioned that I could buy a gift certificate at another spa without this hassle. The kind attendant said "fine". Needless to say I won?t be back.

Great massage. I really liked the massage I had at Solimar. The masseuse was very friendly and nicely incorporated aromatherapy into the massage. The overall atmosphere was great: very calming and pampering. It's one of the better massages I've received.

WONDERFUL!!. I go there to get my facials from Mckensie (sp?). She and the staff are fabulous. The front of the building is very unassuming (almost like a strip mall) but once you walk in you feel like you are in a 5 star spa. I live in St. Louis Park and this place is in Eagan. The drive is far but SOOO worth it. I have gone to many places before this and I will never go anywhere else.
