Surabhi- good food but owner's attitude to customers is poor. We visit this restaurant so often, the food is good. Two bad things about this place: 1) the price for the buffet varies each time we go there: suggestion would be to put the cost of the buffet somewhere where people would see. 2) the second thing is the owner's attitude: she rarely smiles and when she does it seems like it costs her money to smile, as a customer I think smiling and thanking the customers is good for the business, and we go there at least once a month (I understand we all have bad days and sometimes we do not want to smile) a suggestion to the owner is that there are tons of Indian restaurants in Minneapolis and its growing everyday and if you would like your customers to keep coming back and recommend your restaurant you should be more customer conscious, even if your food is good.…
Bad service, mediocre food.
Service is almost none existent. I went there for lunch and dinner few times each. There will be a pitcher of water on your table, who knows how long it's been sitting there. The waiter will bring
empty glasses and you must pour yourself, because he walks away immediately.
During lunch time, not that busy still they have hard time clearing your empty plates, instead all the staff prefer folding napkins as if they were all waiting for each other to do it. One time me and my co-worker just took the plates and put it on th next empty table, because our table was getting crowded.
Places like this go out of business soon, if they keep it like this, and hopefully a better place will open in it's place.…
Here's the deal.... We've been coming here since before the relocation. The reviews I've read made me realize I need to set a few things straight. The service here is not like other restaurants. This does not mean it is bad. They will never make you feel unwelcome unless you are a jerk and need to be treated that way or you can't appreciate delicious food when you have it. They have always been kind and accommodating, even remembering our names and what we like and don't like. This is essentially home-cooked food. It will not be exactly the same every time but it will be consistent. If you don't like the service then just order take out and go to Winestreet and buy some delicous IPA beer to compliment your meal. If you don't like this place, fine, don't come, we won't have to wait so long for a table then!…
Great food, bad service. As the number of places to get authentic south Indian food decrease in the Minneapolis area we turn to Surabhi time and time again. Always the food is very flavorful and extremely tasty (although we only order vegetarian fare so we cannot speak to the meat dishes). We constantly endure the service and as regulars we are fairly used to it. Our recommendation is to order everything at once and make sure you don't forget anything.…
Really Bad Service!. We have been to this place more than once. The first time, we were a little taken aback at the uncommunicative waiter and shabby service. The food was decent and we thought maybe the waiter was having a bad day.We didn't realize that's how the employees at this place behave regularly! So we tried it again after a few months. I really wish we hadn't! In all fairness, the food was okay! It was not the best, it was not the worst I've had either. But the service was worse the second time. The entire staff has a distinctly unfriendly attitude. The employees don't care about customer satisfaction at all. Our waiter did not know anything about the items on the menu. He went in to ask someone else, when we asked him about 1 of the dishes , came back without any more information and a wooden expression. After dinner, we asked for boxes. He came back with a box and with a surly expression and said "Next time, don't ask us for boxes ". I have not been to restaurant where asking for a box for left overs got that response! It's a shame, the restaurant definitely needs new management ! Indian hospitality is a big part of our food and culture, this place lets you down, big time!…
