In Short – This suburban eatery's bare white walls and minimal decor are just as well, as the main draw is its authentic food. The meals are prepared sans artificial ingredients in a traditional tandoor clay oven. The lengthy menu offers the standard entrees, as well as dishes from different regions of Indian. The South Indian selection features dosas (crepes), while North Indian specialties include paratha (lightly fried whole wheat puffs stuffed with potatoes and other goodies).

We've been coming here since before the relocation. The reviews I've read made me realize I need to set a few things straight. The service here is not like other restaurants. This does not mean it is bad. They will never make you feel unwelcome unless you are a jerk and need to be treated that way or you can't appreciate delicious food when you have it. They have always been kind and accommodating, even remembering our names and what we like and don't like. This is essentially home-cooked food. It will not be exactly the same every time but it will be consistent. If you don't like the service then just order take out and go to Winestreet and buy some delicous IPA beer to compliment your meal. If you don't like this place, fine, don't come, we won't have to wait so long for a table then!
- Pros: Best food ever.
- Cons: My stomach's not big enough.
Great food, bad service

As the number of places to get authentic south Indian food decrease in the Minneapolis area we turn to Surabhi time and time again. Always the food is very flavorful and extremely tasty (although we only order vegetarian fare so we cannot speak to the meat dishes). We constantly endure the service and as regulars we are fairly used to it. Our recommendation is to order everything at once and make sure you don't forget anything.
- Pros: Excellent food at great prices
- Cons: Horrible service
Really Bad Service!

We have been to this place more than once. The first time, we were a little taken aback at the uncommunicative waiter and shabby service. The food was decent and we thought maybe the waiter was having a bad day.We didn't realize that's how the employees at this place behave regularly! So we tried it again after a few months. I really wish we hadn't! In all fairness, the food was okay! It was not the best, it was not the worst I've had either. But the service was worse the second time. The entire staff has a distinctly unfriendly attitude. The employees don't care about customer satisfaction at all. Our waiter did not know anything about the items on the menu. He went in to ask someone else, when we asked him about 1 of the dishes , came back without any more information and a wooden expression. After dinner, we asked for boxes. He came back with a box and with a surly expression and said "Next time, don't ask us for boxes ". I have not been to restaurant where asking for a box for left overs got that response! It's a shame, the restaurant definitely needs new management ! Indian hospitality is a big part of our food and culture, this place lets you down, big time!
- Pros: Decent Food
- Cons: Bad Service
