Knowledgeable and personable staff.
I purchased the Living Social deal for Zerona treatments at Salon Ave. I had never been there, and had no idea what to expect. I am so pleased with the environment, staff, and experience. Heather has been patient and personable with me. She is clearly well studied in the actual process of Zerona, and has answered so many questions to put me at ease and truly understand the scientific process. The atmosphere is serene and clean. It is truly a spa experience.
I am excited to experience more treatments at Salon Ave. I have begun recommending them to friends and family, and will continue to do so.
Fabulous Customer Service. This salon/spa redefines customer service. Salon Ave provides cutting edge technology services that are the type of treatments you see on TV: Dr. OZ, Beveryly Hills Housewives. I began my Zerona treatments a few weeks ago and am already down 4.5 inches. My service consultant, Heather, is truly amazing. She is always supportive, cares about my progress and continues to discuss my goals with weight loss. I look forward to seeing her every treatment. Thank you Salon Ave - for being these kind of service to the Shoreview side of town.
Salon Ave and SYNC MedSpa Highly Recommended!!. What a terrific location and adorable place!! I have never felt so welcomed and pampered in a salon or MedSpa in the past. I have been a client in the Salon for several years, but just attended the Open House and opening of the MedSpa addition. The people are amazing and I was able to make it in for services following the event. Every employee was extremely welcoming and all services were professionally done… and I’ve been to many MedSpas over the years! I will definitely be back and recommend others to do the same!! Thank you Salon Avé and SYNC MedSpa!!
Great experience!. I really enjoy going to Salon Ave, where I have received all sorts of top-notch services - haircuts often, as well as massage, facial, body wrap, and others. Each service has been terrific, as are the people providing the services, and every time I am really glad I went...I will continue to go there. Everyone there makes me feel very welcome, from the time I come in to the time I am ready to leave. Thanks Salon Av
I went to the Queen(owner) for a while and got really tired of her moodiness - no respect for my time (a color would take an entire evening) and the other services were absolutely below the bar for what they charged and I was always disappointed. The owner sometimes took 45 minutes to mix up a color for my hair! Up until the end, I was always satisfied with my hair but she knew I could afford whatever she wanted to do - it could cost me in total over $300.00 with tip and most of the time, it was always a surprise that I was being billed for services I had no idea she was doing. She never respected my time nor money. I never in my life ever met someone who thought so highly of herself, was so moody and always had her staff running around for her like chickens. If she ever felt like you were undermining her "capabilities" by asking questions, the hair on her neck would stand up. Almost always, we were constantly interrupted by questions and more questions.
I have moved on very happily and have been going to one of the top salons in the Twin Cities and I am treated like the Queen. The services are so much better and I now don't have to sacrifice my entire evenings for a hair appointment. And better yet, I am spending far less money!
GH0001 - Glad you moved on like I did.
Nice Business Practices.
I WAS regularly going to Salon Ave for about 9 years. I had always gone to the female owner of the salon for all of my hair needs about every 8-12 weeks. While she usually did a really good job with my hair, there were times when the cut/style did not turn out at all how I wanted, (even when a picture was shown to her). Each time that I did not like my cut/style, I would tell her. Unfortunately, each and every time, the owner got defensive, did not offer to waive the cutting fee, nor did she offer to redo my hair at no charge. She didn't even offer a simple apology. At the end of the appointments, the owner suddenly became a used car saleswoman, pushing her products!
On several occasions, for various reasons, I called the salon to speak with the owner, it would be at least 3 days minimum until she decided that she would grace me with a phone call after many more attempts on my part to get her to call me. I would always ask if she was in, and I was always told that she was.
During these 9 years, I have referred several people to her. Never once did she thank me or offer to give me a discount on my next appointment with her, (customer referral discount cards were not around that I new of when I made the referrals). Furthermore, she would occasionally raise her rates. This would have been totally fine with me had she sent me out a notice about this in advance, (especially being a regular customer for so long). I never found out that she raised her rates until it was time to pay. I still kept going to her because these things were slowly happening over time, I had been going to her for so long, and she usually did a good job with my hair.
The last time I spoke with the Salon Ave owner was when I came in for an appointment and she told me that she was going to start charging $60 just for a haircut soon, (this info. only came up because of a conversation that I started. Otherwise I wouldn't have know until it was too late once again). I thought this price was outrageous for 2 reasons: First, while she was good, as I stated above, there were times when she couldn't give me the look I wanted, so she wasn't great and certainly not worth $60 for a haircut. Second, I have a family to help support and there are so many people in this world whose family can only afford to have one small bag of rice for their family to eat for the whole day. I couldn't morally justify spending $60 for a haircut. When I explained the latter reason to her, she seemed irritated and introduced me to a newer hairstylist. Each time I went in after that, never once did she speak to or even look at me although I was still continuing to support her business by going to her salon. Additionally, when she was working on my hair, that never stopped her from having lengthly conversations with almost everyone in the salon - not a wonderful business practice.
After that final treatment, I had it. I saw no reason to continue driving out of my way and spending money at her salon. I honestly don't even think that she remembered how long I had been a client of hers based on other conversations that we have had in the past.
Therefore, if you don't mind a hairstylist who is welcoming and friendly to you just so long as you continue to directly give her money and buy her products, but the minute you stop, you become the scum off the bottom of her shoe, then by all means, Salon Ave is the perfect salon for you. Otherwise, hair salons are a dime a dozen. There are plenty of hairstylists who genuinely care about their clients.
