Make the drive to MPLS for fine dining. My girlfriend and I went to Tria for Valentine's day. We had an 8:00 reservation and the restaurant was semi-busy but had plenty of wait staff. Our waiter, Raymond swore within the first 5 minutes of his introduction, something about the "s**t hitting the fan." He then took off and about 15 minutes later returned to get our drink order, then another 10 minutes passed and we finally got our drinks and waited another 10 minutes to order food. My partner actually had to yell our appetizer order to him. The food was OK but not worth the price at all. The lobster linguine was about the same quality as red lobster. The mussels were excellent and that is the only thing that earned Tria 2 stars. Because it was Valentines day the wait staff was bringing carnations to the female guests. My parnter and I are both females and neither one of us were offered a flower. The only thing the waiter did fast was run our credit card. Overall not a great experience- make the drive to Minneapolis for a fine dining experience.

Worth a Trip...Anytime!. Best Restaurant and Bar Just Outside the Twin Cities I recently returned from a date at Tria. First, the restaurant and bar is beautiful - so warm, rich and cozy. The patio looks great and I am going to return in the spring. They had incredible happy hour deals and my date loved her Sea Bass while I truly enjoyed my steak. The amount of food was great along with really affordable prices. We felt special and did not have to go to a downtown, "fine dining" location.

Seasonal menu not good. Food was either too bland or too salty. Service was good, but very disappointed in the food. The website states risotto and there was not any at all, I was told they had not had any in a year. If that is true the website should have been updated by now.

A comfortable, sophisticated bistro serving a savory, seasonal menu.. In Short
Soft lighting and three large fireplaces make this suburban restaurant cozy; slate-stone floors and simple decor give it an understated feel. It's laid out like a house, so diners feel like guests at a friend's home. The New American menu varies depending on what's in season--sometimes deer, duck or fish. Plump rosemary prawns and peppered tenderloin are a great starter, as are hot, crispy-creamy risotto croquettes. The daily specials have included meaty halibut in a savory port-wine sauce.

Horrible. This was one of the worst dining experiences ever. The waitress was great, but that was it. The " tasting menu" was inedible. My husband and I both ordered it and had to send it back. Baby food came to mind. She brought out a pork porterhouse to replace it that was raw. My father in law ordered the lamb pie. There was one peice of lamb in a tomato sauce. It was just alwful. I am afraid the kitchen at the nearby nursing home may have taken over the cooking. Needless to say, we did not stick around for dessert.

Impressive Seafood. Recently ate dinner on a Friday evening with 7 ther for grandparents 63rd anniversary. Service was above average which was good, since the restaurant was surprisingly empty. Almost everone at our table had seafood. Mussels and calamari appatizers, sea bass and salmon entrees. Heard no compliants. French Onion soup was excellent. Wine list looked extensive. Warm and inviting layout and decor

Anniversary Treat. My husband and I went here for our anniversary and we were very pleased. I actually ordered the lobster chicken pot pie and thought it was fabulous. The server was very attentive the whole visit and when my husband and I ordered a wonderful blueberry rhubarb pie desert "Happy Anniversary" was etched in chocolate on the plate. It was a great outing all around.

Good wine value on Sunday and Monday. Small, but varied menu. A number of items change on a seasonal basis or as the freshest ingredients are available. The fillets of beef (two half-dollar sized pieces - $32) were tender, but could have been a bit more flavorful.. The fresh, seafood special (peppered tuna - $19) was excellent and was a decent sized portion. About a half dozen good desserts. We had the hazelnut crème brule and chocolate torte. Great coffee. Service was poor. We had to sit in the bar area even though there were other tables available. Some patio dining is available.

½ priced wines on Sunday and Monday. Wine menus did not reflect the proper vintage for our first choice of wine. Overall a good dining experience, but nothing to really make the dining experience stand out.
