Don't waste your time or money here!. Was really looking forward to trying this place. Definitley NOT WORTH THE MONEY! The quality of the food was definitly no where near where it should be for the price. The appetizer was a prosciutto wrapped warm slab of mozzarella on roasted red peppers that were cold...would have been OK if the peppers were warm but not worth the $11 they were charging. Ordered the $33 Seafood pasta special, which the waitress talked up as being fantastic, lots of seafood and lobster that will be presented in a way that is very easy to get to...NOT SO. It was BAD. The shrimp were cheap (nickel size at best) & I think undercooked as I was ill 30 minutes after eating it. Very few clams/mussels in shells - also small. The 1/2 lobster was small, cut in half with 1 claw still on which she told me "they do not shell" so I could do that myself, and full of tomato sauce (messy). I was provided a cracker and a regular fork and butter knife (no shellfish fork) to dig what little meat was there...a complete waste. It was so disappointing that I will never eat there again.
Terrible Service-Would not recommend.
I planned an event at Bellanotte. My guests were treated rudely and were not told that their valet had been taken care of. They paid for valet and I also got charged for it! Dinner was served an hour and half late and our server had to be asked to leave.
Afterwards when disputing the payment of the bill because of such terrible service they refused to and charged my credit card the entire amount without notifying me.
Terrible service-I can't stress it enough. Pretentious without reason.
5 Star Corporate & Private Event Destination.
I plan all of the corporate dinners and events for an international restaurant chain. So I am privy to the ins and outs of the industry and have had comprehensive experience with other establishments and this restaurant is at the top of my list.
On numerous occasions I have utilized Bellanotte's private dining program and every time my expectations have been exceeded.
The staff is impeccable. Well trained, knowledgeable and always anticipating my guests needs.
The food is top-notch, and the servers will always make the best suggestions based on your palate. Their signature filet rivals those from any steakhouse in town and the sea-food is always jet-fresh.
I have hosted group events in both of their back private dining rooms as well as the "atrium" area.
The event space is breathtaking no matter where you dine.
To add to the ambiance they even have a live 3-piece jazz band in the restaurant!
Parking for my guests is always a concern and it's breeze here as there is always valet service available.
I have a demanding group that expects nothing but the best and that is what Bellanotte consistently delivers.
Great Food. I went to Bellanotte one night for something different to eat and for different experience. They have excellent food and great customer service. The food was very good. I would recommend this place to others that want to go somewhere for some good food.
Not worth the effort.
Decided to try Belanotte before going the the Guthrie. Arrived a bit late for a 5 pm seating as we had difficulty locating the entrance! The address on the web site indicates 600 Hennepin Ave, but that is the address of "Block E". The entrance is actually on the North side of Block E. near 1st Ave. Go figure.
Once inside we were greeted warmly and service was good, but not exceptional. No specials were mentioned to us, but another server described several to a couple seated near us that came in a few minutes later. The food was WAY below par for a resturant this expensive. We ordered the veal shank and a ribeye. The veal was of average quality but the ribeye that was listed as 16 oz was approximately a half inch thick, laided upon a huge mound of potatoes. Desert (chocolate lava cake) was excellent. We did have to request that they not add the carmel rum sauce since it was being served with several fruit colais. The run/carmel would have ruined the fruit and chocolate flavors.
All in all we won't be back. For the price there are a great many place better.
horrible horrible waiter Gerald. The food was good, I had the spinach lasagna. The prices are a little high. The service started off EXCELLENT, Gerald was very attenative, but, as the evening went on, he seemed to disappear, and when he did show up he was very rude. He was short with each of us and unattenative. We were a party of 8. At the end of the meal, some of us paid by credit card and some by cash. He took it all and came back to the table and told us we were short with the cash and when we got it straight to let him know. He offered no assistance. He walked by at least 3 times while it was being figured out asking if we were done yet. He was very rude. The tip he was left reflected the service we received. Very, very rude and unfriendly to us.
exceptional service, great food..
Bellanotte is the first restaurant that has rivaled same-price dining experiences in San Francisco. The service was exceptional (almost to the point of excess), the food was excellent and the wine recommendations were perfect. Dishes were cleared and brought out promptly (despite the completely full restaurant), all staff were attentive and friendly and the entire experience felt engaging and positive.
Another note about is the chic interior and (as far as I could tell) younger crowd.
Overall a great experience. I was very impressed.
Nice location, not worth the money.
Were promptly seated and waitress was pleasant, taking the time to run through the menu. 2 in our party asked if they could substitute the pasta that came with the ahi-tuna for asparagus and were told it was fine; 3 minutes before our mains came out, she then told us they would have to charge for the sub, definitely a little late in the proceedings.
The Ahi-tuna was meant to be one of their signature dishes and boated sushi-grade tuna; this was definitely not the case.
The "Mozzarella in Carrozza" was nothing more than a couple of flat, breaded mozzarella sticks that you could find in a bar; certainly not what was described in the menu (lightly sauteed and baked).
The flat bread had a chunk of cheese dropped in the center which wasn't properly cooked (go to RedStone if you want a proper flat bread in my opinion)
The Penne Vodka was well thought of, a saving grace of sorts
Service staff were over eager, trying to snatch the plates away almost before you were gone.
Beer selection was pitiful, wines were certainly good though.
Overall, not a place to go back to, especially given the prices!
Disappointment. The service was slow and it took forever to get drinks. The food was ok, but at those prices the food should be much more than ok. There is an annoying guy working the restroom too. It is loud in there too. And there were more seniors in there than young people. To cap it off the valet was slow ($10 + tip) . I had high hopes for this place; I will not be back.
3 star with 5 star prices. A 3 star restaurant with 5 star prices. The food & service are good, not great. The bathroom attendant harasses patrons & then hits you up for a tip, classy. This place may have been great back in the day but it is no longer. If you're looking for a mediocre restaurant but want to pay for a top notch establishment this place is for you. And don't worry about reservations the place is half empty friday and saturday nights.
