avoid this place. one of worst services ever... it took them over 10 minutes to acknowledge us to take our name down and then did not even let us know how long the waits going to be.. had to overhear it from others.. sucks!

Wretched. if I could I would rate it a half-star...and that's because my Diet Coke was drinkable. My salad was served in a greasy, deep-fried shell that tasted of rancid oil. The salad was tasteless, chicken strips bland and unseasoned, and the lettuce, onions, tomatoes and peppers had all seen better days. I tried hot sauce, salsa, salt and salad dressing to doctor it up--but NOTHING could make it edible. Even the chips were greasy and flavorless. (If you're a Mexican restaurant the very least you should do is get the chips right!) Do yourself a favor and go a few blocks West to Chipotle...it's a lot more for less money, better quality.

My Favorite Mexican Spot Outside of Mexico. I can't imagine how anyone has had a negative experience at El Azteca! I have been coming here at least once a month for the past two years with a variety of different friends and family. Aside from the occasional language barrier when menu questions arise, no one has had a complaint.

I typically order the taco loco or mushroom quesadilla with a jumbo Texas margarita to wash it down. The food is out FAST after you order it, and the quality of the chicken vs. some other Mexican places I've been to (Chevy's, Taco Bell, Chipotle) is far superior. I will continue to return to my little slice of Mexico for years to come! It's a great opportunity to practice my Spanish.

I recommend grabbing a couple of friends and sharing a pitcher of margaritas. So many of my friends and family are in love with this place, they almost don't have enough room for all of us. They should really take over the Quizno's space next door and make us a party room!

LOVE EL AZTECA!

Quite possibly the worst experience of my life. I have to agree with the previous reviewer. Like them, we made the horrible mistake of going to this dump for Cinco de Mayo. Simply awful. I have never experienced worse service in my life. It was like the bartenders were surprised when you asked them if you could get a drink (yes, you had to ask them b/c they wouldn't acknowledge you). After 30 minutes of being ignored, I finally ordered a margerita and a beer.....I got neither. After 3 attempts to explain my simple order to the bartender, I was finally delivered my drinks. 35 minutes after I entered the place, we had our first sip.

And the manager, yes this guy is incompetent. We witnessed several other people complaining to him about the service and he looked like he couldn't care less. In fact, the service was so awful you could hear other people in the bar joking about "the great service here."

Whoever recommended this place must be nuts. Save yourself and go to Taco Bell, you'll get the same "mexican food" but without the incompetency.

Horrible Service & Manager. We went with another couple on Cinco De Mayo and it was the worst evening ever. The service was horrible, it took 15 plus minutes just to get the bartenders attention to get a drink. We ask for

chips and salsa and that took more than 1/2 hour.

Order cheese dip and they brought the dip without chips. The cheese got cold, had to send back and ask

to reheat and to bring chips. When that came back it was luke warm...ugh! Our friends must of asked for chips and salsa 5 times before they got them. We ordered our dinner and that came and we had no silverware. (how are we suppose to eat our food) We ordered

another margarita and it was just mix, NO TEQUILA!

When we mentioned this to the bartendered and she argued with us and said there was, like we didn't know. We complained again and this time she hastily grabbed a bottle of tequila and spilled and slopped a few drops in the glasses and barely any went in. We told them the drink was awful and just to take it off our bill and she

said NO! Shock! We said no you take it off our bill, we didn't even drink a drop of it. Unbelievable. After that we were not offered another drink and was ignored. Completely rude and ignorant staff.

I was watching the manager who has anger issues because he gets frustrated that he doesn't speak or understand english. He was slamming his hands on the bar and yelling at customers. He has got to be the worst manager. In his eyes the customer is wrong and if he/staff makes mistake they do not own up to it and will get mad at you for demanding good service. I would say that is wrong.

We left them no tip and will never return and we will make sure we tell all our friends who will tell their friends and so on what a awful place this is.
