Finally Real Mexican Food in MSP. Lived in TX and finally found a Mex rest. with real Mex food. Not the chilis crap and real hot food, not Minnesota hot (taco bell). I go to the one in Anoka too. More food than i can eat and great BDay parties. Salsa is awesome too.

Fresh Mex in the burbs!. I'd always complain that there were no decent Mexican restaurants in the TC until I found El Azteca; It's now a regular stop for my husband and I. El Azteca is a casual place to meet up with friends for some good Mex food that doesn't give you stomach cramps. They have an extensive menu and great margaritas, which is key :)! Warning: Their complimentary chips 'n salsa with the ranch dip is so good, it's addicting! Try it out- good times!

love el azteca. my future wife and I have eaten at this restaurant several times and highly recommend it.they now know us by name,food prices are great and so far we have yet to find mexican food taste and quality no where close to theres.because of friendly employees and authentic atmosphere we continue to return even when we pass several other mexican restaurants to get there.we are even going to use there food for our rehersal dinner.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I Hope My Experience Was An Isolated Event. I ate there a week ago & was disappointed with the service & food quality. Our waiter took my order while 3 other couples were seated around us After approximately 20 minutes all 3 couples were eating & ours hadn't arrived. I asked my waiter where our dinner was & he stated he would check. Approx. 15 minutes later, our dinner was served without an explanation. During dinner, our waiter did not come & ask us once how our dinner was. I had 3 bites of my food & left to pay b/c my food was not properly cooked & I was disgusted with the sevice. I paid the cashier & he didn't even ask us how our dinner was. I was disappointed with the food & service. I have never complained of my food service before but I was very disappointed with this restaraunt & wouldn't recommend this place.

Mexican. This is great Mexican food. Come Hungry. Wait staff is excellent and prices are inexpensive. Two for lunch today without beverages was a total of ten dollars

Something has changed here, and it is not for the better, The refried beans used to be one of their best items. Now they are unacceptable.

One meal was inedible and was exchanged for a different menu item.

i am looking for a new Mexican restaurant

Mmmmm! Me gusta mucho!. I have eaten at El Azteca many times, and have NEVER been disappointed! They have delicious food, and it will be at your table very quickly after ordering. The service is great, very friendly! The menu offers many choices at VERY reasonable prices. I always have a hard time deciding if I should stick to my favorites or try something new. Everything that I or my family members have tried has been great. I especially recommend the burritos! Plus, the sauce that they serve with the chips and salsa is awesome! I have never enjoyed mexican food so much!

Get the Tejas Margarita and you won't be disappointed! I also love the Mucho Burrito. YUM!

Update: they did lose their liquor license back in 2006, but they have it back and the place is awesome.

Very authentic. Very authentic food in a nice atmosphere. Prices are decent, including a good happy hour. Margaritas could be stronger. Many of the servers need work on English, but are very friendly. Good location by the Plymouth theater. There is often live music, but it gets to be too loud during dinner.
