Return to family traditions and values. Walking into Sammy's Pizza you get a feel for family traditions and values. The food is incredible, my favorite being the cheese ravioli's made with Grandma P's homemade sauce. I have tried the salad's, pizza and many of the pasta's and have never been dissapointed. The service has always been friendly and proffesional as well as quick. This family owned business is a nice relief from all of the generic chain restaurants. best pizza anywhere. I have been eating sammy's pizza since i was at UMD in the 70's. To me it defines pizza. Three toppings i highly recommend are the sausage, always fresh with a strong fennel influence, the kosher salami, (i've never had it anywhere else), and the seasoned ground beef (not your ordinary ground beef). I would have to rate it best crust, best sauce, best toppings. Classic Iron Range pizza that i grew up on in the late 50's and early 60's. Less than average. I ordered this last Sunday with my father. The ingredients were VERY skimpy. There were some squares that had no sausage at all. The cheese was skimpy also. I'm not sure if they changed the recipe, but I have had this at one of their locations up north and I thought it was good. Not this time. Very tasteless. I will not order again.
