This place does not understand what good pizza is and the owner acts like you're doing him a favor when you buy a pizza from him. This place will be OOB soon - there's too many good pizza restaurants around town to put up with this.
Superhero Pizza. Loved it! Just moved to the cities and found it through a Minneapolis Vegan blog called veganpantz Check out the blog too.
Nice in theory.....
Everyone knows of Galactic Pizza's super hero delivery guys, which is really fun. Our kids get a kick out them for sure.
However, we have our doubts about the quality. Inevitably, one or both of us will get sick after eating it. We seem to keep forgetting this (or we're gluttons for punishment) and order once a year or so. Each time we swear "never again" and then say what the heck. We don't have sensitive stomachs, but there is just something about this place. Unless yours is iron clad, there are better choices.
Otherwise the pizza itself is so-so on taste, but way overpriced. Really all they have going for them is the novelty of the delivery method. We also noticed the owner belittling his staff on our one dine-in visit. Totally uncalled for, and seemed to be a social class sort of thing the way he talked down to them. All about his money, he has all the power, etc.
So, you may want to give it a shot to impress the kids, but otherwise I think we will look elsewhere for pizza from now one.
Good Food Rude Owner. I've seen first hand the owner of this buisness treat his employees poorly. I've seen him make his drivers wear spandex suits and shovel snow in the winter time. They have to wear those suits when it is really hot out and really cold out. They are not an adequate outfit to wear during those conditions. Everyone there makes very little money and works very long hours and are over worked for their earnings. So when you put your money into galactic you are supporting a guy who treats his employees terrible and really doesn't care about anyone other than himself. The food is good, but we should't support a company who treats their employees this way.
Yummy Yumma.
galactic is definitely my favorite pizza. you might think that because its all organic and "healthy" that taste would be an issue, or that it would just be kind of basic. that couldn't be farther from the truth. honestly the best tasting pizza around. i'm not terribly fond of the plain pizza with tomato sauce, but the alfredo, pizza a la vodka, and pizza bianca are to die for. its like heaven baked into pizza form. also has great vegetarian options. the veggie chicken, peps, and sausages are quite delicious. i haven't tried the vegan cheese yet, but perhaps someday. the pasta is also surprisingly good and not that pricey.
we've never had any problems with delivery. one time we had forgotten to order pop and we called about 20-30 min after ordering to ask if they could add it on and about ten min later they delivered pizza+pop. also, the delivery guys are pretty awesome.
i'm not going to get into all the environmentally friendly policies they have. i'll just say that it makes you feel like you're doing the earth a favor by eating pizza. can't complain about that.
there is also a 4:20 special that a delivery guy told us about. if you order between 4:10 and 4:30 they'll take $4.20 off the cost of the pizza. how awesome is that?
great pizza made with great ingredients. my husband and i just ordered takeout from galactic, so i am not sure about the service, but the pizza was awesome! the ingredients are quality and fresh. it is also a great location. i would definitely eat here again.
Delicious pizza that is out of this world, Quick, fun, environmentally friendly delivery.. Besides having your wonderful pizza delivered by a super hero, you know that you are supporting an environmentally friendly business. Other's should take note. Great delivery service, pizza that doesn't fall apart, is still hot, and is tasty no matter what toppings you select (I do something different, every other time.)
$2 coupon??.
That logic doesn't make sense buddy. One coupon per pizza - seems pretty straight foward. Do you think if you saved up 8 of these coupons you would get your pizza for free??? Of course not. I don't think the staff are the morons you claim they are.
Food's great and inventive. The drivers use electric cars and wear super hero uniforms (no joke).
And the staff is intelligent enough to stop a coupon scam when they see one (maybe try the photo copier next time - you could eat free pizza forever!)
Come for the Social Conscience, stay for the food.
When I first heard about Galactic Pizza, I decided to try out the restaurant because I liked its community focus. After ordering a couple of their pizzas I was hooked. They make a lovely thin crust with either traditional ingredients or wide array of surprising ones; perusing their menu is entertaining in and of itself. I have enjoyed every one of their "specialty" pizzas that I've tried, including the one with wild rice.
I have only dined in a couple of times. The atmosphere is funky and very casual, and I personally really like it. The service was slow when I was there. The dining room is very small - maybe 10 4-tops at most, and was full when I visited on a Thusday night around 8:00.
I will certainly be returning, not to mention ordering plenty more of their pies for delivery.
Eat with your conscience, but bring your wallet.. The idea behind Galactic Pizza is amazing -- a fully conscientious and sustainable restaurant that not only uses organic ingredients, but also gives to local charities, supports local organic farmers, and uses wind for electricty. If you're vegan or try to avoid cheese, the soy mozzrella is among the best you'll have. But you'll pay for this in higher prices and questionable service. Still, the cause is so good, and the food solid if not spectacular, that you will find yourself going back again, like we will.
