Unfortunate. 4th time a charm? Sorry but no. We have been loyal warehouse locale patriots for 10+ years and since we live in the western burbs we would O-west to be great but alas it's far from it. Avoid this location the service is painfully slow and there is zero accountability at the manager level. Sadly, the service is so poor that it towers over the food.
Consistently good. Love the place. The fish is always fresh and the presentation superb. The chefs could be a little more personable. Ryuske I think that's his name is the only one who talks. Kitchen food needs a little work. I eat there almost everyday. Noodles...taste like onion broth. Gomae is too salty, I stopped ordering it. Chicken dishes sometimes tough but not too bad. Seaweed salad doesn't taste as good as Fujiya. Wait staff is not so knowledgeable. Otherwise, I'm there for the sushi. Always superb.
awsome food very creative and Service is the best. I had the great pleasure of dining at origami West their sushi is the best, I have eaten at all the major sushi restaurants and this is by far the greatest the service was also very good considering how busy it was they also have a great happy hour
Stylish and modern, this suburban sushi bar is a convenient, classy place to refuel after a day of shopping..
In Short
Bright walls, tangerine chairs and golden lighting behind the bar make it easy to forget you're in a mall. Shoppers in for a quick sushi fix squeeze into seats at the sushi bar or at small tables. California rolls are stuffed with soft crab and avocado; crunchy rolls are crisp with hearty chunks of shrimp. Cooked specialties include grilled tuna tataki in ginger soy sauce, and chicken in mildly sweet teriyaki.
Terrible service and bad manners. Tonight I had the worst dining experience I have ever at Origami or otherwise. After finally being seated it took about 15 min. to be asked if we even wanted a drink...after that here was no one to be seen for at least another 15 min. We ordered our dinner..... 30 min. later (and no checking back in)- among the rest of our food - only 1 lobster roll (2 per order) the waiter & then manager argued that we must have ordered it wrong - as I pointed out there is no other way to order it on the menu. After many other mishaps, nothing was taken off our bill & it was basically communicated it was OUR miscommunication, not theirs. Tip: don't argue with the customer when they are clearly in the right. I expect more and will NOT return to Origami West until competent management takes over.
Wonderful Good & Service. My daughter and I went here for the 2nd time and had the same fantastic service and food. The sushi is so fresh. And the presentation is beautiful. And the sushi chefs are so nice and helfpul. My daugher likes her sushi roll with just rice and carrots and they have no problem making it for her.
Pretentious Mall Sushi. I went to Origami West one night for dinner with a friend. I ordered 15 bites of food and that cost me $16.00. The sushi tasted no better or no worse than any other place. Personally, I don't think this place is worth the money.
still the best. As a frequent diner at the downtown location, I was hesitant to try the new Origami West. I was soooo very plesantly suprised. The room is exciting and fun, the wine and sake selection was excellent. Our server was terribly knowledgeable an to top it off the food was amazing. Some of the sushi chefs make their own signature rolls that were fun, non traditional and addictive! The Sokeye salmon and the special white salmon just melted in you mouth. The only thing was we were overlooking the parking lot which the manager said would soon be taken care of with stylish new window coverings. You should check it out.
