Best Thing I Ever Ate Was Here!. We stopped here after walking around downtown Stillwater for a nice place to eat. Lots of choices but we ended up here - pretty small bar and restaraunt - hole in the wall. My bf got the pulled pork sandwhich and I got the slow cooked roast beef sandwhich. Both were very good. The roast beef was the best thing we've both ever eaten! Highly recommend this.

FRAUD............... Beware....we had a nice time at Whitey's however; after checking my account activity the following days, I learned that they added more money to bill AFTER I signed the reciept.

Cool Place. No happy hour. 9 out of 10 times me going to a bar/restaurant involves a happy hour. I enjoy getting together with co-workers or friends after work to unwind. Whitey's is a cool place but the lack of a happy hour scratches it off my afterwork list.

great place for a brew and food. great place to watch football and have beer and food. The menu was very unique for a bar. The beef tataki was great as well as the wild rice soup. The atmospere of the staff and parons really made you feel welcome. We will always make it a point to stop there when we travel to Stillwater

best appetizer & sandwich. The tuna tataki is not to be missed! It rivals some of the finest restaurants in downtown St. Pau or Minneapolis, with a very comfortable atmosphere. If you are hungrier, don't pass up the slow roasted beef sandwich...it will melt in your mouth.

Excellent Breakfast. We avoided the busy "brunch" crowds on Mother's Day and ventured to Whitey's in Stillwater. I really like the atmosphere and the bartender always pours a good drink. It was my 15 year old sons first visit. He loved the food, he ate 4 pieces of french toast, one order of hashbrowns, two sides of bacon, and two glasses of milk. The rest of us had eggs benedict, and eggs florentine. The food was excellent. One of the better benedicts I have had. One complaint, there was only one server and she was running her tail off. The owner was present, but only helped a little. Next time have a back up, waiter/waitress for a day like Mother's Day.

Great Surprise. The new owners of this establishment have transformed the old John's Bar into a hip, but calm, saloon. They added a kitchen and the food is great. The BBQ pork sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. Now is the time to go since the lift bridge is closed for repair. Without the WI traffic, Stillwater is a quiet small town, with great food and good parking.
