terrible – Went to the Megadeth show here last night. And my friends and I actually left early. Volbeat was the only good act. they at least had heart and soul and were loud enough to have to yell over. Megadeth was probably the quietest band I've ever seen live. But it wouldn't have been bad if they didn't oversell the venue. took us 1/2 hour to get to the bathroom in between bands and that was the biggest moshpit in the place. we walked around for 20 min and couldn't find one spot where you could even see part of the stage. And there staff didn't regulate anything. all they did was stand around or run around yelling at everyone. never going back here.
American Capitalist at its finest. Take the money and run. – I am completely and utterly appalled at the treatment myself and my girlfriend received at MYTH this evening for the five finger death punch concert to the point of refusing to see another event at this venue.
Kick the people out who are causing fights. Kick the people who are drinking too much. Kick the people out who are rude and making lives miserable for other patrons. Don’t kick people out who want to cool off before enjoying the title act. I am absolutely dumbfounded by the logic here.
For this reason, I have decided to boycott MYTH
MYTH for me was two full price Ticketmaster tickets and an expensive dinner for jack #$%@ all. Thanks for nothing MYTH. I still can’t believe I missed the show after getting so excited for it. :(
Listen Up Minnesota – im here to tell ya i lived in florida for seven years been to tha largest nite club in tha usa for those of u that dont know its club lavela panama city fl...anyways i moved here THE ONLY CLUB I WENT TO WAS THA MYTH...love that place i went to over 30 concerts there and always had a great time dont complain about tha drinks go to downtown if u wanna get ripped off and myth has free parking COME ON CONCERTS IN DOWNTOWN WHAT A JOKE LAME LAME LAME and its scary down there yall need to wake up oh yeah i forget this is minnesota haha cant wait to go the tha myth and party what do u expect? gold on tha walls lol...SO GLAD MYTH IS REOPENED WHOOOOO!
A great club? Nope, just a myth. – They called it the myth because it isn't for real. Pretty garbage club, glad it closed.
Myth shity – They don't care who the f*ck you are as long as they got their money they kick you out even though you're over 21 to drink. It's all about money Myth b*tches.
i may go there if i were 15 again – Friend and I went there sat night and it was dead like hell ..and don't get me started the crowed mostly asian and very very young. i definitely not recommend it for anyone over 21
Godsmack was HORRIBLE – I have been to a couple of events at the Myth. I don't think it is a bad location, but Friday's Godsmack concert was the worst concert I have ever been to and I have been to 20-30 concerts.
When I saw that they had sold out and then released another limited number of tickets, I should have been alarmed I guess. I bought my tickets ahead of time and paid the Ticketmaster fees in case it sold out.
I will NEVER do that again. We spent $50 a piece to get in the door and by the time we got in there we had missed the first band. The line was horrid. Then getting in the door and trying to move was ridiculous. It was so packed it took you forever and a day to even move 5 feet. To actually see the concert or get a drink was harder. We missed half the concert because we couldn't squeeze through the crowd. I have NEVER not been able to get on the floor. They couldn't even begin a mosh pit of any kind on the floor because it was too pack.
Now I hear they are being investigated for being over-capacity. Yea, I am pretty sure MANY would have died if there would have been a fire. No way it was safe there.
Will I go back to a concert there? Only if I buy the ticket at the door. NEVER a sold out concert again.
They were greedy packing that many in there like that. Everyone I talked to complained. I would have rather taken my $100 and gone elsewhere.
Bad Venue for concerts – This was the worst experience I have had at a concert. Im usually not the guy that complains but this was my 6th godsmack concert and close to my 30th concert overall and this is the worst venue EVER by far. The concert was sold out and it was packed. There was no view of the stage at all. There wasnt even room to squeeze to the floor or to the front of the balcony to see. Unless you get there early and do not leave for bathroom or drinks you're stuck watching the concert on the screen. Godsmack was great I hear but the venue is aweful.
what is everyone complaining about? – I have been reading the reviews and I think people are just looking for a reason to complain.
First, the parking. There is plenty. Over 1,000 spaces then by maplewood mall. Altogether, over 4,000 spaces to accomodate a club whose capacity is 4,400...for free! If you have to walk two minutes through the mall parking lot and you are upset, ARRIVE EARLIER.
Second, the Myth does not and has NEVER overbooked a show. There is a set capacity, and therefore a set number of tickets. The reason Jason Mraz was so crowded, it was SOLD OUT both nights. What did you expect?
Next, teen night is 16-20. So those of you complaining about the young girls and how they act, SHUT UP. You know they're 16 cause that's what NITRO is. If you are 18 or older and appalled a this, you should have gone to the 18+ clun night MYTH had EVERY saturday.
Front door staff in not incompetant. Nor do they aggresively search anyone. The people searching have over 2 years of experience and are fast and unintrusive. The only time the girls searching would ever say or do anything disrespectful. All night they here "Feel me up more", "I know you like it", and "Check my d!ck, B****, that's where I hid them". Yes, they are called names by male patrons who think women are objects for their entertainment. They are also often grabbed and touched inappropriately. So, if you don't want them to be mean, just treat them with respect. Hell, don't say anything at all they like that too. They are young ladies acting professional and doing their job; which is crucial to your safety. (People would be stunned if they knew how many guns and knives we find in a night. We literally have BOXES full of knives confiscated). Act like adults and I promise they will be nice to you.
Drinks in the bathroom: Don't be stupid that's how underage people would consume if we let people in with drinks. Like in stalls, with closed doors, away from people who might try to stop them, like security. DUH. If you want to know wy certain policies are in place, you could ask. Just letting you know.
Finally, if a bouncer approaches you, and is being an a$$, keep in mind it is because he thinks you are doing something wrong. Easiest way to deal with it, COMPLY and it will get sorted out, you will get let back in. Worst way to deal; scream, fight, name-call, threaten. If you behave this way, you will be seen as an unstable threat to others and you will not be let back in. There are cameras EVERYWHERE and mangers do not want people kicked out. They will investigate claims and treat you with respect, as long as you keep your cool too.
So, in order to have a great time at the Myth, where there IS lots of free parking and overfill lots,be nice, behave, use your damn head
Um, worse than what I expected.... – Three of us went to a Rise Against show in Feb. of 08'. It started out with us walking to the Myth from a nearby hotel, I think it was at least 20 below. We stood in line for at least an hour waiting to get, which is fine, I can handle that. Once we got in, got our drinks and looked around, we saw that the majority of the people that were in the crowd were ages 15 to maybe 18, which made me feel a little uncomfortable about drinking because I tend to get out of control at these events, but that still didn't stop me from having a few.
We watched the other bands that opened for Rise, they weren't bad, but when Rise came on, I dragged my friend down into the mosh pit, everything was going fine until I looked back at my friend and her face was covered in bl00d. Some dude knocked her in the nose, giving her a black eye and messing up her nose pretty bad. We crowd surfed to the front to get her to security, who then took her to a back room. I tried to follow, but the chick wouldn't let me. I sat and waited for her for what seemed like an hour. So I freaked out, thought she went to the hospital or something. It turns out that they just cleaned her up and let her on her way. She went back to where we were sitting and was there when I finally found her. I was really upset at how the security treated me. They were very brash and rude, a simple "no" would of been nice, instead that girl literally pushed me out of the room where they took her and slammed the door in my face. I tried explaining that she's my best friend, I am concerned about her and I would just stand by the door, that they wouldn't have even noticed me. Instead I got the boot and had to sit there wondering about my friend. I think that's pretty cruel to do to someone.
We are going to another Rise Against concert this Friday. I hope it will be better this time, or I will not be returning. The Myth should really consider having 18 and over or 21+ concerts, I wouldn't want my kid to go to a show where adults get wasted and out of control. I feel bad for those younger kids who witness adults acting like sloppy drunks. It also makes it easy for underage drinking to go unnoticed, security is everywhere but they can't watch 100's of people at once.
