The Best Hairdresser in the Twin Cities. I was recommended to go see the "color doctor", Zilya, to salvage my overprocessed, green-tinged, blonde hair. It was clear Zilya is highly knowledgeable with the latest hair trends and she is very, very passionate about her work. She gave me the best hair color and cut of my life! By using using a combination of Ombre and Balayage highlighting, she gave me beautiful, natural blonde color with amazing dimension. My hair actually looks healthy too with amazing shine. She is worth every penny and then some! If you want the best for your hair, then you need to go see Zilya!
A huge disappointment.
I thought I was giving myself the ultimate treat by going to Zilya's but I can't tell you how disappointed I am in their service. I had an extensive chat with Jamie, the assistant, about how I wanted my color to look, and then she and Zilya went to town....I was excited! Half way through the color process, I caught a glimpse of a white streak but figured they knew exactly what they were doing. In the end, they had to process color on my hair several times in order to tone down the white streaks they had created. I walked away looking like a punk rocker with red streaks through my hair instead of the natural auburn sun-kissed brunette I was hoping to be! To their credit, they invited me back so Zilya could fix it---in the end, I was reasonably satisfied with my hair, although it didn't come out as I had asked. Zilya said there was only so much she could do when doing color correction.
I can forgive mistakes when they are appropriately admitted, I can forgive excuses when they are justified. This situation was handled very poorly....they messed up my hair, I had to go back in twice to have it fixed, AND they never gave me my money back after promising to do so. Be warned.....it's NOT worth what you pay and you would be much better off going to Kristen at Juut in St. Paul. They seem very sweet and nice---until they mess up your hair.
Zilya is my favorite stylist. I’ve been going to Zilya Salon for more than ten years. I searched for a stylist for two years and I feel very lucky to have found Zilya. She is a true professional and makes me look great, and is always pleasant. People often ask me about my hair style and where I had it done. In my opinion, Zilya Salon is the best in the Twin Cities.
Zilya Salon. I first found Zilya 20 years ago. And now, 20 years later I am still having Zilya color and cut my hair. I call her "my artist" because she gives me a color that is so natural appearing and vibrant. Her cutting skills are also truly artistic in that my hair is easily cared for by me and even looks good as it grows out. On occasion I have tried other stylists closer to my home but I am always disappointed and return to Zilya. Her expertise and talent are well worth the trip. She is honest and consciencious. Zilya is a great find for anyone who truly cares about their appearance.
Diamond in the rough.
I feel very fortunate to have found Zilya 3 years ago when I was looking for a someone experienced in hair extensions. I first wallked into her salon with short hair and with the intention of using extensions to help thru the awkward stage of growing out a short cut. I left a customer for life. Mind you I drive over 200 miles each month to remain under her care.
Zilya has given me the hair of my dreams. Not only have we been successful at growing out my hair, but my hair is full, long, shiny, gorgeous.
There is no one better at coloring or cutting hair than Zilya. I am often asked why I drive so far, isn't there someone else in my area that could replicate the cut and color? I wouldn't even take that chance. After several failed attempts at growing out my hair, hideous haircuts, and bland dull coloring I am thrilled to have found Zilya.
Her attention to detail is unparalleled. She is not going to skip a step, everything she does passes her high standards. And when she suggests a product I listen. I know we have the same goal in mind: to keep my hair looking it's best.
Her new location is great as well. Free parking and located in the vicinity of great shopping and restaurants.
Zilia is the best hair stylist from MN to NY. I have lived in NY for many years and used to get my hair done at Frederick Fekkai salon. My hair dresser was Frederick's personal friend and partner from Paris. So I am used to the best!. After I moved to MN, I could not find a hair dresser that would color me blond, a good, beautiful blond. After many disasterous tried, I finally found Zilia. Alleluia!!! Not only did I come out blond, but everybody could not believe it was my real hair(and I work in retail, so I see tons of people everyday). As far as color, Zilia has no competition in MN. Cut is a different story....nobody comes close to the level of creativity and knowhow. And when I needed an updue for a wedding I went to....forgettaboutit. I think the star of the wedding was my hair :))) I'm serious, people did not recognize me. It was gorgeous. And to answer some of those CHEAP ASS comments...GO TO GREAT CLIPS, DON'T WASTE ZILIA'S TIME. My personal phiosophy is that you have to pay, if you want something good, especially hair. You only given one set of it, so don't ruin it by going to the bad hair stylists.
RIP OFF BEWARE!.
My kind husband surprised me with a gift card for TWO massages...but was told, after completing the purchase, "oh by the way, she has to use them before Jan 31 because we're moving and won't offer massages after then." That give me 11 days to get in there, which I can't because I run 3 businesses and am frantic enough without the added stress of adding that in.
I called IMMEDIATELY the very same day and was told in no uncertain terms by the OWNER that he could not get a refund under any circumstance.
I'll never understand businesses that are happy to take your money but refuse, under ANY circustances, to return it. GO ELSEWHERE...there are plenty of other salon owners who will do anything to take good care of customers to ensure repeat business and goodwill.
Great Haircut & color. My stylist (Jamie) was very friendly and listened to what I wanted, and made good suggestions in deciding how to cut, style, and color my hair. I love how it turned out!! I also liked the products they used in my hair. I'll definitely be back.
so-so color. I went to this salon thinking i would get the best of the best...not so much! save your money. the one benefit is they use wella color.
Excellent for Hair Extensions!. I had Zilya and her staff put hair extensions in last week. I have baby fine hair that seemed to stop growing at my shoulders. Zilya and her staff did an awesome job of first correcting my hair coloring and then adding extensions two days later. The extensions and hair cut took about 3 hours. I have received tons of compliments on them from friends and co-workers. Everyone says they blend in amazingly and that you can't even tell it's not my real hair. I would completely recommend Zilya for hair extensions if you are looking for someone experienced that knows what they are doing. As a side note, they aren't cheap (standard rates for a high end, experienced stylist), but you get what you pay for and this was well worth it!! She warned me that I might become addicted to them and I already am.
